  1. Agreed, I only go on Sherdog to make fun of people these days...but the gifs there crack me up.
  2. No, we are all watching the same exact fight, but different tecniques mean different thiings to us and to the judges. The think the guys were fairly even on their feet,, but Akiyama was able to be the one in charge of the take-downs, that was the difference. That why I scored Akiyama 29/28 (ther person who went with the 30/27) was undoubetdley smoking crack.
  3. My friends and I now refer to him as Michael "Down for the Count" Bisping. Yeah, Rogan was just of an idiot for saying Belcher was robbed as that one judge was for scoring that bout 30-27. I had Akiyama winning 29-28 simply due to the takedowns because they were pretty equal on the feet.
  4. That's fine, lots of people view him differently. I'm going off a lot of what my fiance tells me as far as Brock having worked a bit with him, and a lot with his trainers...that he's actually a supernice guy. I agree that Brock got carried away after the fight, but I've seen that with several guys in sports, especially in the wrestling world. I guess I just understand his mindset a little more because my fiance liked to piss the crowd off in collegiate wrestling, he did all sorts of crap to screw with people and he thought it was hilarious, totally fed off of it. I know Brock loves it when people don't like him, my friend Ricky, same way. So, I guess I'm a bit more tolerant of this occasion because I've seen it a few times and I've seen the guys behind it and seen that they're actually good guys. Sure, Brock's a sore loser and this is a loss he wanted to avenge, especially after he felt it was such a lucky submission he basically gave Mir. I think his intensity is part of what makes him such a great athlete. And I guess I kind of get how a guy can go off after something like that, although yeah, it was overboard. He definitely acted like he was back in the WWE. There was definitely some seriousness to it, especially right afterward, but his speech, a lot of that was clowning around. Anyway...I still thought it was funny, But of course, I'll be the first to admit that I'm totally biased, so always take whatever I say about wrestlers with a grain of salt.
  5. True dat EVERYONE is the same way. Surround yourself with bad people, you'll lose your way. Fortunately, Brock has surrounded himself with some of the best trainers out there and has a great support network.
  6. Oh, I don't think that's a knock on Lesnar,he definitely still has a lot of work to do to cement himself atop the pinnacle of this sport. And I wouldn't say he's near the best P4P either, not even close. Well, at least that we can agree on. GSP is one of my all-time favorite UFC fighters. The guy is simply amazing.
  7. None of your posts ever have any semblance of rationality...so no, that wouldn't be "clear to understand" coming from one of your posts.
  8. Me thinks McD5 is into public executions
  9. McD5 - Because I'm in a delightful mood and am choosing to give you one serious answer on this topic, Fedor could beat Lesnar. That's one of the only ones I can think of. I hope they start working on possibly getting this fight together after Fedor's next fight, but we'll see. I can see Dana actively going for that. Whether it happens or not, who knows. But that's someone who could beat Lesnar, or at least give him a serious run for his money. Well, when he gets back beavis.
  10. OMG, seriously, please stop. You are making yourself look more and more ridiculous by the post, if that's even possible these days.Maybe you watched UFC 1, lots of us have. But you clearly don't follow NCAA wrestling, or you would not even be calling him a fake wrestler. Calling him a "fake" wrestler clearly displays your extreme ignorance on this topic.
  11. Too late, I've already posted in here too. I'd say that leaves Chachie, 99, sebowski, Slacky, BigMike, StillUnknown, Destino, and a few others left to salvage this mess  Actually, I think Betts is THAT man...only HE could submit Lesnar. Really though, you are THE most hilarious poster on ES, bar none.
  12. Well, it's definitely a legit sport. Whether people like or do not like the brutality of the sport and invalidate it as a sport because of that is another matter... My mom and dad think my siblings and I are crazy for "watching that crap," and my siblings and I think it's awesome  Then when I met my fiance who wrestles and fought several amateur MMA fights in college along with a lot of his other wrestling teammates, I got even more into it...and even got my dad to attend a couple of his last fights So watch out, it may suck you in... :evilg: Well, I can certainly see if this was your first time watching the event, with Brock's antics last night, how you could have some questions about the validity of the sport, lol. It's not normally like that...ever. Lesnar was way over the top (which I thought was funny), and I know Dana White, the UFC pres., had some choice words for him after the fight  Here's a little write-up on yahoo about the fallout from the Lesnar's little show. http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug=dw-lesnar071209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Nah... :evilg: In all seriousness though, I am actually okay with refs letting them go for a few extra punches to make sure. I prefer that over stoppage done too soon, or standing the fighters up when they think the fight is getting "Boring" on the ground when the fighters are actually working to improve their position. But then again, I'm not a fighter and I'm not getting my face pounded in...
  13. Okay, I'm just throwing this out there not to brag or anything like that at all, but just to put what you're saying into a little perspective: one of my fiance's and my very good friends fights in the UFC...just fought his first fight last card, has 3 more to go on his contract. I can tell you that NOTHING about these fights is rigged or pre-determined. These guys are accomplished athletes in their respective fields; with our friend Ricky, he was a wrestler before turning to MMA. These guys are ALL going out there to win. No one is going to tell them what fight to win, what fight to not win. Period. That being said, there are a lot of guys that perform antics in the octagon and outside of the octagon to create kind of a character or persona for the crowd to latch on to, because that certainly makes them more marketable. So yeah, there are guys that play to the crowd, Lesnar being the biggest character of all (by the way, my fiance has worked at wrestling camps with Lesnar and hung out around him at wrestler house parties in Minn. and said he's actually a really nice guy and this is all show). I don't know, maybe that'll give you a little background to consider :whoknows: But these fights aren't fake at all. The only thing Ricky's ever told us is Dana picks the walkout songs for some of the guys (not the big name fighters though).
  14. That fight would last about 5 seconds. Max. Not really. If Kimbo sucks it up on TUF, he doesn't "deserve" jack crap. Lots of guys on TUF don't get contracts with the UFC after their appearance on the show. EDIT: And I'll be the first to say I think Kimbo will "suck it up" on TUF.
  15. White did pull Lesnar aside in his dressing room after the fight. Lesnar apologized at the post-fight press conference this morning. He explained his mentality regarding the Frank Mir fight, I could definitely see where he was coming from. Sure, he went overboard, but I thought it was freaking hilarious. My guy and I were crying because we were laughing so hard. Do you know why he had his leg bandaged? Mir is a submission specialist: bandaging his leg provides a source of friction for him to improve his position when working for submissions of Lesnar. That's exactly why he had his leg bandaged, not because of some horrible injury that put him at some disadvantage in this fight.
  16. Haha, that's what I said when the first televised fight started. I turned to my guy and was like "WTH happened on the undercard? They better show that crap!" Agreed. All this crap about making a different weight class for HW just because of Brock's size is ridiculous. People really need to watch some of the original UFC's and look at those size differences. Sure, MMA has completely evolved since then, but Brock is making the weight to be in the HW division (265), so I don't get what people are complaining about. Noooooooooo! I love his fight attire... :cloud9: Definitely agree with you there. No kidding, that was the fight I really, really wanted. I wanted Bisping to get massacred. I was jumping up and screaming and running around making my fiance give me hi-fives. Lol. It was like the Skins scored a touchdown or something...and I got the same look from him last night as I do during football games when my family goes crazy, lol. He was happy about the outcome, but not going crazy like me  Yeah, seizing from a knockout sure screams "fake" to me. Are you for real?
  17. All I can say is that I'd pay a lot of money to see a Lesnar vs. Fedor fight, that would be rad. He has to cut to 265 for heavyweight...he walks around way bigger than 265 though, and he fights at least 15-20 above 265.
  18. That's the thing, I don't understand how people don't find this guy hysterical. He's totally screwing around.
  19. OMG, Lesnar is cracking me up, totally!!! Anyone who takes him seriously right now is just being silly.
  20. TKO, Lesnar. Mir was out. Mir wasn't doing anything to protect himself. Hahahaha!
  21. Yeeeaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  22. If I were a judge, that would be 10-8 right there. But I'm sure they'll only go 10-9.
  23. Brock's crucifixing Mir and pounding his face, nice.
