I love when the young guys are bitter. I have been watching since their last championship, over THIRTY years ago. You have no reason to be bitter
Haha I hear ya chipwich. I've suffered my whole life as well though. Kwame Brown, Ike Austin (what a great trade that was), getting rid of Webber for Howard. It's been frustrating to say the least.
I could say that for every DC sports team though. At least I will always have the Terps championship from 2002! Big game tomorrow huh? And of course Super Bowl XXVI...when I was 10 haha.

Far from hating. I love the fella. He's basically our only hope.
Don't take message boards so seriously.
-
If you did a search you would see I've been loyally posting about the Bullets since I joined this forum. Even in the now defunct Washington Basketball forum.
For the record I am being cynical, if you couldn't notice, about Wall. Dude is nice. But the history of this organization causes me to be bitter. I hope he balls out of control for the next 17 years here in DC. I'm sure he'll be a baller. It's just my instincts from years of sucking that causes me to think otherwise.
-
Because I hate him. And I can see into the future. He will be mediocre.
Why wouldn't I post in this thread? I love the Bullets as much as anyone.
-
I see John Wall had 4 points tonight on 2-10 shooting.
-
Wow I completely forgot about trading away that #5 pick in 2009 for Foye, Miller, and Jermaine Taylor. What the flying jambalaya was that about? Retrospect is 20/20 but still....what exactly did he think was going to amount from that?
Darren Collison, Stephen Curry, Brandon Jennings, James Johnson...a lot of young talented players we could've gotten. And what the hell was that pick of Jermaine Taylor about? I remember sitting there screaming for them to pick DeJuan Blair.
-
That is true, he is an assist monster. 10.1 points and 8.5 assists in 2019.
-
how can u have a bad feeling about wall? who would u preferred they drafted?
isnt he gonna be the rookie with the most double doubles by seasons end?
Just every game I've watched he is more flash and preening than actual output. I don't see him breaking his defender that often. His jumper is average. I dunno...perhaps it is just the Curse O' Les Boulez that has me cynical. Such a horrible organization.
The only other players I wanted us to draft were Favors or Cousins. But all in all it was the best pick we could've made. He is only 20 and he obviously has a lot of talent so more power, I'll try to stay positive. But remember I warned you when he's averaging 10.1 points and 5 assists in five years.

I only saw the last minute of the game and that missed Kidd 3 definitely went over the top of the backboard. Bull**** I say.
We would've lost anyway though. This team is so horrid. We can't draft a good player to save our lives (I have a bad feeling about Wall) nor can we sign a good big man. Championship in 2022.
-
Eh, we suck. No good shooters. No defense. Maybe I won't watch any more games.

Got a free NBA package preview from DirecTv...watching tonight.
John Wall is great on the fast break. He is finding open teammates with ease. In the half court game though I don't see him breaking his defender that often.
Kevin Seraphin showed me a little something around the basket. And Yi Jianlian has a nce shot.
We might even get a road win! I'll check in later.

Agreed with whoever said that frontcourt is this team's weakness. It has been for years. I like McGee a lot and think he can improve significantly. Plus the dude has the ups of an antelope. Haven't seen much in terms of post moves from him though. Blatche is talented but is erratic as hell and is a pole, gets muscled by big PFs with ease. I'd say he's worth keeping though just because of his scoring. Are Seraphin and Booker going to contribute in the near future? I pray to god yes....but somehow our draft picks always end up being horrible. I honestly haven't seen them play much, don't even know if they are getting playing time. And yes Nick Young is a great scorer, but somehow I think he is better coming off the bench. He conserves energy and can be a sparkplug. Either way for us now it is irrelevant. Rashard Lewis is a great player so I think we need to hold onto him, regardless of his age and contract situation.
Jianlian (what is this guy's deal?), Armstrong, Hinrich, Thornton (I used to think dude was nice), Howard (still think he can contribute, just gets injured all the time)......I dunno. Looking at that squad you'd think we'd be better. But the sad truth is that only Lewis and Wall in the future start on anyone other squad. When I get home I'm gonna go out of my way to watch a few games to see exactly how bad we are. I hope we have all our draft picks, because we need to draft a stud PF very badly and anyone else who can score and defend.

I'm really worried that John Wall is going to be an average player. He is mostly show, as in he is flashy and likes to preen around the court. Jumper is mediocre. His ball skills are great, but he tends to get hassled in traffic. He's very young so I'll hold out hope. Still, his recent box score numbers are troubling. I like the assists though.

First game I've watched in a while...and that's how it turns out.
If you can't hit free throws/inbound the ball then you don't deserve to win.
-
No foul on Nick?!
-
Defense! clap clap Defense! clap clap
-
It would be a shame to lose this game. C'mon Josh drain these!
-
Agreed about the first three, but I don't see much of a role for Thornton going forward. He's not bad at anything but he doesn't have a defining skill.
True. I guess I just like his scoring potential. I saw him play a little bit out here in LA for the Clippers and the dude just goes off randomly for big games. He has a lot of skill. But you're right, he isn't like a great all around player or anything. Plus he's a 2/3 hybrid.
Juwan Howard retire already.
-
McGee, Young, Wall, Blatche, and Thornton= our future.
Didn't realize Josh Howard was back until he hit that last jumper. Always liked that dude, good to see him on the court.
-
Just saw that McGee dunk attempt(game is on NBATv didn't know). I love it. Yeah Young was wide open for the layup, but I'd rather see Javale try to dunk over someone from the free throw line.

I also think this team is going to start playing well now that Gilbert is gone. Just like last year when we acquired Howard and Thornton.
-
Love the trade for the mere fact that it saves us a ton of money. Also, let's face it, Gilbert is nowhere near the same player as he used to be. 4 years ago he would drive to the rim like a bull and finish with amazing ease and finesse. Now he is much slower and is a pull up shooter.
Lewis is 31 and has probably like 4 good years left if we want him. If we were in contention he would be a great piece, but for now he's just a solid veteran who hopefully makes us less of a laughingstock.
-
That was too easy. Pacquiao is so quick. Ridiculous. I don't even know who he can fight now, there is no one he won't beat. Props to Margarito for going all the way, his right eye was cut the **** up.
-
Missing shots and giving up easy ones. Offensive rebounds. Typical Wizards.
John Wall is fast though.
-
I knew we shouldn't have cut Brandon Lloyd. But damn, I didn't think he'd lead the NFL receiving with 589 yards five games into the season.

Finally jesus.
I haven't been able to watch much recently, but damn Nick Young has been killing it in the box scores. John Wall with the pretty nice stat line, 19 points 12 assists 2 blocks 2 steals and 2 turnovers. And I like to see Josh Howard back in there, I think he can contribute next year.
