Paying tribute to these community all-stars
No complaints here because these community all-stars do so much for their community, they are great people overall
Great to see players mingling with these community all-stars
Yeah, but THAT song?

Are they for real?? What the hell is the point of this girl singing this random song??

Glad the fans gave Vladdy a good applause. I was wondering because a couple weeks ago, the Rangers went to Anaheim for the first time this season. The fans gave him a standing ovation, and then Vladdy proceeded to hit home run after home run and collect RBI after RBI. Eventually it got to the point where the fans started booing him. They were getting tired of him.

Who's getting ready to watch the All Star Game? :munchout:
-
Agreed.
Also, way to fill the stadium, Anaheim. Jeez.
You have to remember about the time difference. When this thing started, it was 5pm local time. People still have work, ya know.

And the All-Star Break is upon is. This is my second favorite time of the baseball season (next to the playoffs, of course). This is a time for the teams to take a deep breath and get ready for the second half of the season and for everyone to just...enjoy the game, you know? Have a little bit of fun with a meaningless exhibition of the best there is in the game.
It's too bad that it really is NOT a meaningless exhibition after Selig's bright idea to make it "count" towards World Series home field. The NL will never get home field in the WS again until they stop that.

oh my god oh my god oh my god
Hmm, well at first I'm excited that Lee is coming here. But then I got to thinking. Is it worth it? And my conclusion is: probably not. We are trading away some good young talent for a guy we'll probably have for three months. That is an expensive rental.
Even though the Yanks didn't get Lee via trade, who would be surprised if NY got him anyway as a free agent when the season is over? He'll probably be in pinstripes sooner or later anyway. I'm really sad to see both Justin Smoak and especially Derek Holland go.

They just reported that the guy is responsive and his moving his extremities. Four other people who were hurt were being treated at the stadium.

Someone just fell from the second deck at the Texas Rangers game trying to catch a foul ball. They didn't actually show the man falling, because the cut the shot away just in time. The announcers were horrified as well as the fans and players. The game has been delayed, and it is not sure if the fan is in serious trouble or worse. The announcers just said that the guy fell on a couple of fans as he landed, so he might not be in perilous condition. What a scary situation.
Were you able to see it? I'll give a few more details since it's my team and I'm watching. After a foul ball, this guy leaned too far. The man apparently was able to grab the railing for a second before continuing his fall to the lower deck. But we didn't see that. What we do hear is a woman scream (maybe the guy's wife?) and a collective groan from the crowd. That draws the attention of the batter and the ump. Their reactions made it clear something was wrong. The ump just turned and started to walk away. Eventually the man was taken away on a stretcher. I hope he ends up okay but idk. I'm hearing that the Rangers radio guy said he may have landed on his head. Hope they give an update on him when they can. ****ing scary.

Vladdy is a gigantic walking middle finger in Anaheim right now.

Go Braves!:wavetowel

It is destroying baseball, IMO.

Heard on the radio coming home tonite that the Rays have actually been no-hit THREE times in the last calendar year!
To be fair though, the one tonite by Jackson has to be the worst no-hitter ever thrown. 8 walks and a hit batsmen? LOL He didn't really give them a CHANCE to hit! Btw, the Rays had 9 LOB.
Nolan Ryan walked 8 in one of his no-hitters.
-
This season has been ridiculous. @ the Rays getting no-hit twice in the season already.
-
no-no COMPLETE!
-
Lost his mind? How so?
He went on a rant in the dugout, most notably getting into it with Derek Lee.
-
Edwin Jackson of the D'Backs is three outs away from no-hitting the Rays.
-
Braves took 2 of 3 from the Pads.
That kind of tiebreaker is only valid if the teams have the same record. Which they do not.
But you should know by now that I'm a big Braves fan. However right now, Rangers > Braves.
-
Braves are kings of the NL, people.
Not after losing again tonight they aren't. That would be the Padres.
-
Padres 42-29 Hope to sweep the Rays tomorrow
Please do.

Your Rangers (though they're really OUR Senators) are tearing it up right now. I hear Hamilton's batting average skyrocketed from last month.
In June, Hamilton is hitting .476 with 8 home runs and 26 RBIs. And he's currently on a 17 game hit streak. The dude is beasting. And he got the night off tonight and the Rangers still won 13-3. Yeah it was against the Pirates, but still. 10 in a row!
-
The Pirates picked the wrong time to come to Arlington.
-
Lastros fans showing their class by shining a laser in our pitcher's face as he was getting ready to pitch. Pathetic.
-
Michael Young has become the Rangers new franchise leader in hits, passing the one and only, the great Pudge Rodriguez.
