  1. Remember how we all wanted Ernie & Witt fired last year? So if Ernie is finally figuring it out, does that mean Wittman will have figured it out in time for the regular season? To his credit, his coaching in the Chicago series was better than during the regular season. Maybe that means something?
  2. StillUnknown post #32203 The skins were 3-13 last year while the Wizards are coming off a playoff series win. Why would you be alone, lol? That said, I think the skins have the potential to be much improved. Whether they'll make good on it, we'll have to wait and see.
  3. Whoa whoa, all I asked for was people's thoughts............ In all seriousness, yes, I think Love or Durant, heck even Bosh would be better fits here than Lebron.
  4. There was some speculation on a radio show (can't remember which one) that Lebron might want to come here if the Heat fail to mount a comeback in the finals. Any thoughts?
  5. I think either Webster or Ariza should be gone in one way or another, keep Gortat, ride it out with Nene another year unless we get a chance to get rid of his contract without replacing it with another bad contract, resign Gortat, and hope we can get Love or Durant here next offseason. In the meantime we need Wall & Beal to continue improving, and hope Porter can become a rich man's Ariza. I still want Wittman & Grunfeld gone, but pending some other organization seeing them as hot commodities for "turning around" the Wizards, that won't happen.
  6. It's disappointing that we lost a series that could've easily been ours, but we beat the hottest team in the East in 5 games and won 2 games against the #1 seed. We have a lot to look forward to. (then again, I said the same thing after the 2012 redskins' season............)
  7. Great win. We could've already won this series had it not been for Wall's funk earlier. If tonight wasn't an anomaly and he has snapped out of it, we can still win this.
  8. Has Webster ever actually made one of those reverse layups along the baseline?
  9. Holy cow we stunk. Indy didn't even play particularly well, we were just awful. This series is still very winnable for us, but our offense has to be MUCH better. If we had played the way we did in ANY of the 5 Chicago games, we'd be up 3-0 right now.
  10. Agreed with STBonecrusher that Nene should consider taking a step back and shooting jump shots for his FTs given his ability to hit medium range jumpers from the field. Frustrating loss given that we shot ourselves in the foot and still only lost by 4. This series is ours for the taking, but we can't beat ourselves.
  11. Gator Bait.......what happened to that guy? Why doesn't he post here anymore?
  12. When they made a run at us during the third quarter the announcers said something like "this is Indiana basketball," but I just saw us getting good looks and blowing them. Coupled with our bad FT shooting and you have a game which was much closer than it should've been. Happy for the decisive performance but we need to get better at closing out games. Fortunately it didn't cost us tonight or the previous series, but we're just asking for trouble, and it'll get worse if we live to face BKN/MIA.
  13. Should we go small and give Harrington more minutes than he's been getting? He was a big factor in our 4-game win streak to close out the regular season.
  14. That was one of the most frustrating endings ever. We should've beaten them a lot worse. Guess this means the team is doomed to perpetual mediocrity. Wait, we won a playoff series? GO WIZ!!
  15. Impresive win, but holy hell, we need to make our fricking layups.........
  16. Assuming Nene doesn't get suspended, I still like where were at. Took a surreal game from Dunleavy, and we adjusted to him as the game went on, and we seem to have figured out Augustin. And they barely beat us. FTs are still a major concern though.
  17. Should we consider starting Webster and not bringing Ariza in until Augustin enters?
  18. Man I'm so stoked right now. We took all their BS (from the refs and players), fell behind, and still won. Nene has been a fricking beast. The Brazilian Beast. Hats off to Wittman, his coaching has actually been pretty good, that one timeout aside.
  19. Had to rely heavily on the vets for that one. Hopefully, now that their feet are in the playoff water, the young bloods can get more comfortable. Good stuff, looking forward to Tuesday. Please stay healthy, Nene.............
  20. Stevemcqueen: "We got on a really good roll right there at the end." I think getting Nene back gave us a shot in the arm. Even the game before the 4-game win streak (close loss to Charlotte), the execution and intensity were there: our shot just wasn't falling, and that was Nene's first game back.
  21. Hats off to Booker: I've been critical of him before but he's been awesome as of late. Looking forward to the paloffs!
  22. I think we should consider continuing to bring Nene off the bench during the playoffs. Good win! With the way our offense clicked, I think we would've won even with James & Bosh playing.
  23. Didn't we make the playoffs in the 90s with Chris Webber? If so, who was our opponent? Forgive me, I didn't start following the Wizards until 2001.
  24. Hats off to ATL: I am very surprised that they were able to stay ahead of NY and clinch the 8 seed, but they did. They are 6-4 in their last 10 games including their loss to us, so I think our win over them has gone up in value a bit.
  25. This is the kind of loss I can live with. Charlotte made lots of 3s, including tough ones, yet we held them to under 95 points despite the game going to OT. Our execution was fine; we just didn't make shots that we normally hit. If our execution and intensity are like that in the playoffs, we'll be fine: over time, the shots will take care of themselves if we execute. No way will Ariza and Beal combine for 8 points despite good looks in another game. In fact everyone aside from Wall, Gortat, Booker, & Nene combined for 21 points.
