He'll get going, I think. The others can pound sand--Rosario has a -15 OPS+.

Ruiz is the only one that is a real issue. The rest are one year fillers. Rosario and Meneses are particularly frustrating though. Menseses has been bad for 2 years.

On the Junkies this morning, Jason Bishop responding to reports that Maye was not on our list of QBs: "I hope he makes them regret it."
Really? DC host openly rooting against the team? Come the **** on. Can you imagine that being said in Philly or NY? Dude would need police protection.

I think you are probably right, however the passing over of DeJean at #40 because we were clearly focused on Sainristil make me slightly question that logic.
You have to assume we didn’t have a first round grade on DeJean, or had other concerns. I know we got good trade value, but imagine if we hadn’t got Sainristil at #50 once that CB run started.
Were we clearly focused on Sainristil? Or was he a number of options there?
I don't think we can say, for certain, what they were clearly focused on or not. I think it's fair to say we did not like deJean for whatever reason to allow him to go to the Eagles, or they thought he might be available later--since the Eagles took Mitchell in the first.

I think you'll find a fair sized contingent around here that feel the same way. It's not completely without merit, because this draft hinges on the QB hitting beyond all else, and the QB can't hit if you break him. That said, I think the new people in charge will be way better at mitigating deficiencies via scheme than we've seen in the past, and I don't think they're done addressing said deficiency. A long term answer would have been nice, but an answer for now would be plenty sufficient.
I like the fact they stuck to their board. Too often we have fallen in love with a player (Forbes, Davis) and passed on better players. I'd rather not address the immediate need by taking someone in a panic that they didn't rate highly. Will it work out? Time will tell, but they had a very good approach and I love they stuck with their evaluations.

There were a lot of folks who wanted us to trade back into the first and pick a tackle. But the run on tackles came a wee bit earlier than expected, and I don't think Peters wanted to pay the price, probably a 2025 1st or 2nd, to move up from 36 to say 15-ish.
By the time they got to the mid to late 20's, most of the guys they would have been targeting were gone.
And none of the tackles left on the board were worth spending 36 on. I THINK, if I'm not mistaken, after the last tackle in the first round, there was a big gap before the next one was taken. I could be wrong about that.
Between Guyton and Paul, there was almost a full round between Tackles getting taken. JPJ and Frasier when for OL in general

They need to get more guys who can consistently pitch multiple innings every few games if their bullpen is being asked to cover four to five innings a night. Cant really hold up when six of the guys are one inning types.
And Davey has trust issues. He either loves you or you won't pitch for days on end.

I feel better you can point to each of the draft picks and say "This is why we drafted him here" and that is NOT "because we needed a Left Tackle and panicked and drafted one."
There was some ass on The Athletic panning all of our 2nd round picks because "OMGZ...they NEEDS a LEFT TACKLE! What are the DOING?!!!>>!"

Take a look at what you linked. He’s made 12 appearances and has been scored on four times. He had only been scored on once in his first eight appearances. He pitched three days in a row in Oakland which were game 6-8 for him. Then sat for six days and now has given up runs in three of his last four games.
I misread what you typed. But that's overblown, honestly. He threw 30 pitches in 1.1 IP. That's not overuse--which is the battle cry whenever an inconsistent reliever struggles. It was the same thing with Mason Thompson last year. Fact is Weems has never been consistent--and he's been rarely used three days in a row. We need a more reliable bridge.

Odd how Weems’ struggles started after pitching three days straight.
He hadn't pitched since the Dodgers series.

They are picking each other up. Can’t believe that after committing three errors in game 1 in 2023, Abrams commits his first in game 27. The did botch three DP attempts. Call made a nice play in right, and Lipscomb made a very important play late (eight hits so far in the series).
Wild that this lineup is capable of 23 runs in two back to back games.
Will Senzel produce himself into a trade chip?
We have an option on Senzel, so he might stick around. I am loving Jacob Young--will ultimately be a 4th OF, I think, but man he is such a spark plug! He is a Juan Pierre type--very useful cog in a winning team.
We also need a more reliable bridge to Harvey and Finnegan. Weems is wildly inconsistent. Maybe Hertz, Brykczy when he gets healthy. Law was good today, but again, way too inconsistent and he is awful with men on.

Kick ass come back win yesterday! Brutal error in the first and the wheels fell off after that--but Davey's boys put them back on the truck and kept on rollin'! How can you not like this team??

That was the his best answer to Scott Abraham at his presser.
"Can you talk about what stealing the soul of a defense looks like?"
"2023 Florida-LSU game." (laughter)
"Can you elaborate?""Just put on the tape." (more laughter)
That was an insane game. Insane.

I'm with ya, and I can't stand Roseman, but he may have had his best draft ever this weekend. That being said, I'm willing to give Peters a learning curve.
Or, you know, give the players time to actually take a snap before making any judgements

What's he saying?
No one he talked to liked Maye, said he's raw, misses too many layups, doesn't go through progressions, basically said he's a mess. I am running on fumes but that's what I gathered.

Giancarlo Esposito has signed on for a major role in the MCU. However it is not Professor X. There is speculation he will replace Jonathan Majors as Kang. Could he be Dr. Doom?
He is one of my favorite actors, he’s been excellent in everything I’ve seen him in. Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, The Mandolorian, The Boys, The Gentleman. Very excited to see what role he plays
