I always wonder about people that call in every day to sports radio.

I think I tried to call in one time about a decade ago on a long commute home.  BMitch was saying something crazy.  Sat on hold for a few minutes and hung up.

I've called and gotten through a couple of times. It's typically when it's a hot take and the groundlings are taking the bait hook-line-and-sinker. If I wasn't at work, I would have called in this morning re: Bryce's health. Rizzo called the Verducci report "inaccurate." He did not say he was completely healthy.

If you can't fill a show without taking a ton of calls. Then you need a shorter show. Much rather have guests call in. Beat Reporters, "Experts", Athletes, Managers, etc. I don't care what some guy who has time to call in thinks.

Agreed--especially during the daytime. Most people with an ounce of sense in their head are at work--and really only have time to waste time on Twitter and message boards :)

taking calls from listeners is the worst part of sports talk IMO. They always start with at least one of these, but usually more than one. "Love the show", "I'll make this quick", "I just wanted to say".

It's never quick or well thought out.

They should have a number for people to call and leave a 30sec voicemail. Kind of like PTI where they play the recording of somebody asking a question.....and then talk about it.

It's usually people who can barely speak English--and not because they it's their second language--it's because the callers are ****ing morons.

i'll say this about Sheehan and his rant this morning.

a couple of years ago, when many people ripped the play calling under kyle, Sheehan was adamant that we shouldn't rip the playcalling, parlty cuz we had WRs and TEs wide open all over the field.

now, in defending kirk, hes blaming the play calling, even though we have WRs and TEs running wide open all over the field

Don't let Stephen A. Smith see this,

That sounds more like a 980 problem then a talk radio problem though. All their shows are like that. The only real baseball guys are Galdi and Loverro. Galdi is exiled to like the 5 AM slot now and Loverro is gone.

Even if I wasn't a Nats fan, it was a terrible discussion. Who really gives a **** about Nate Sudfield?

Is it just me or are Czabe and Pollin just as awful this time as they were last time?

They spent roughly two hours debating whether Nate Sufield would be kept on the 53-man roster or try to sneak him through to the practice squad. And Dukes, I thought, was doing well on his own, now they've saddled him with the unlistenable Chris Russell.

****tards. The Nationals are about to win their 3rd Division title in 5 years. I think that's more important that the ****ing 6th-round-pick, 3rd-string QB!

Think the board software is still getting itself straight,so the Rogue One thread is unavailable right now. So this will do for now. :)

  8. Latino review had some possible spoilers from EP 8... read at your own risk:

They claim that instead of Luke telling Rey "I am your father" he will say "you are my father". The leak claims that Luke left to find the first temple to find info on "The Chosen One" and he finds out that there has been multiple reincarnations of the Chosen One and he believes Rey is the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker. Latino Review has a pretty good track record for spoilers, but I'm not sure I'm buying this one.

    That's dumb. Really.

  9. I'm loving the Rogue One.

I like even more that they are going off the Skywalker storyline.

It seems to me that Disney is taking the best of the Star Wars movie franchise and embracing the idea of an expanded universe.

As long as Disney keep putting out quality Star Wars films you'll hear no complaints from me.

But, PLEASE for the love of all that's holy and sacred do not allow this to become the next "Let's see how many Marvel super hero movies we can shove down your throats" contest.

I agree--Rogue One looks great. And as far as the Marvel stories being "crammed down our throats," if anything, that should be encouraging. Marvel is still cranking out good movies--their Tomatometer scores are routinely in the 70's and 80's.
