Now that we're into the 2nd half its time for trade talks to heat up. The Blue Jays traded Alex Gonzalez to the Braves for Yunel Escobar. Its a 5 player deals, but those were the biggest names.

Just heard of Mike&Mike that George Steinbrenner has been rushed to the hospital and is in serious condition after suffering a massive heart attack.

You could be right. I guess the Yanks could use some pitching, but Sabathia, Hughes, and Pettite are all pitching well right now. Lee would just be overkill at this point. There isn't much the Yanks need to do. Once Teixeria and A-Rod start hitting like they can, its lights out. I'd really like to see Lee go to Minnesota or Tampa. If he went to Tampa their rotation would be very good. I've also heard that the Phillies could be in the bidding for him too. Maybe parting with Werth to get Lee back.

Not sure why the Yanks want Lee so bad. Seems like Montero could be the real deal and with Posada coming to the end of his career, I think it would be tough to trade a solid young catcher. I don't think they need Lee to win, they proved that last season.

I had the Heavy Seas Summer Ale at Max's this weekend, it was awesome. Great taste and definitely better than the Sam Adam's Summer Ale and I'm a big Sam Adams fan.

Nolan Ryan had 8 walks in one of his no-hitters as well

Edwin Jackson has had an up and down year and last night kinda summed it up. Gets an no-hitter, but walks 8 and has to throw 149 pitches to get there. At one point he had walked the bases loaded and no one was out. But a no-hitter is a no-hitter, so congrats to him!

Can't believe the Marlins fired Gonzalez. Loria is an idiot, he's had 2 good managers lately in Giradi and Gonzalez and he's gotten rid of both of them. Word is that Gonzalez could wind up with the Braves and take over for Bobby Cox next season.

I think the knee jerk reaction was for him to do it. I still think he should've reversed it since it had no effect on the game since the Tigers won anyone and the next guy was out. But it does set a bad precedent for the game. If a team had a call go against them they did like they would ask Selig to overturn it. I don't agree with it, but it does make sense.
