  1. It isn't like I've watched wrestling enough over the past decade to have a serious insider opinion, but everything about Reigns screams "star" to me. The look, the work rate, from what I read he has the right attitude to carry a big storyline. Seems like the sort of person WWE would want to push in this manner. Rather than a guy who left the company to pursue an MMA career, and only came back because he couldn't medically compete in MMA anymore. Because if Brock wasn't brought down by diverticulitis or however you spell it, he'd still be in the Octagon; that's where his heart was. I wouldn't feel confident entrusting him with something like this. I'd rather push a new guy, and Reigns seems to have "it."

The argument is valid and I think there are some concerns with Brock taking it however Reigns is still too green for a rub like that. The guy hasn't even started his solo career yet. Imagine him beating Taker and the guy hasn't even won an intercontinental title yet? Let alone the world title.

Brock makes sense kayfabe wise. He's a monster, he's a machine and Taker looked like a dog ready to be put out to pasture. He's also an accomplished and cemented star before last night. It isn't believable for many people to beat Taker and yes that includes Punk. People won't want to hear this but the only other person I could see besides Brock would have been Cena.

  2. Got to agree with X-Pac, I think Reigns would have been a better choice, but what's done is done. I wouldn't be shocked if Taker retired, and look forward to him being the mystery Royal Rumble entrant in twenty years, coming out around #24 or so, hitting one big move and being eliminated in 2 minutes.

I'm shocked at the amount of people on board with this. What makes anyone think Reigns deserves it and could handle the pressure something like that would bring?

  3. Sting/Taker is best left to fantasy booking at this point. Taker is retiring. I think that was his final match.

Speaking of X-Pac. He tweeting out

Usually when he talks you only hear "dumb" but I agree here. Either win and retire....or lose for a future star.

Except Reigns would have to live up to incredible expectations and the pressure could kill a new guy.

  4. Bro he didn't look right 5 minutes into it. Looked like pulled a hammy or tweaked a quad. Before that, he physically didn't look right. He had a gut & his entire chest/pecs looked like he has lost all muscle tone. Almost seemed like he knew he didn't have it anymore.

    Oh and **** Super Cena.

Cena's match was the only one besides Taker I got wrong. I thought for sure they'd have Bray go over.

  5. It makes sense to give it to Brock but the real issue with the match was the booking and the build up. If they knew going into this that's how they were going to end it the match deserved a way better build up and more of Lesnar looking like a straight up monster. And I don't think it was called on the fly I think this was the ending all along that Taker wanted.

With that said I think giving it to Brock was the right move. First if you give it to an up and comer then the expectations are far too great for them to live up to. Second Brock is a monster and he can handle the heat this will get. It's going to and already does make him look like a total badass. Beating Brock will have a lot more meaning behind it now. The caveat there is that he actually continues to wrestle (and I think this means he will) for a long time.

  6. I dont think Usos winning the tag straps had anything to do with Punk not showing up. That was a marketing strategy because they are having a Main Event on WWE Network only tonight where the New Age Outlaws activated their rematch clause.

That's Vince stacking his pockets with dolla bills as more people sign up for WWE network.........and I hope they do this once a month or two, it would be great to see actual title changes again during Raws/WWE Network Main Events.

You're crazy if you don't think that wasn't planned because of the crowd. Vince and WWE played the smarks in Chicago like a fiddle.

  7. Congrats WWE. You suckered me into wasting 3 hours of my life for the first time in a year because of the Punk rumors.

Outside of the Shield, Wyatts, Lesnar/UT and Bryan, **** the current product. AWFUL booking. Terrible story telling. Just terrible. I'll admit that a lot of the Attitude Era was overrated but it was LIGHTYEARS ahead of the crap on now. Jeez.

End rant. It just pisses me off about how poor the product is. They have talent. It shouldn't be this way.

I can't believe anyone thought Punk was coming back. It seemed so transparent from the start. As soon as Paul Heyman came out that sealed the deal. Not to mention having the Usos win the tag titles? That was by design. As soon as those things happened that should have clued you in.

Overall I thought it was the best RAW in months. Not to mention we finally got a glimpse of ultra dick HHH. I hope he turns up the intensity the next few weeks. He works best as an asshole with some fire.

Hey man you'll just have to do like Batista says and DEAL WITH IT. (My new favorite wrestling catchphrase)

  8. Initial start up bugs & issues aside, Vince is a ****ing genius. The Network is a game changer. I'm waiting for the day Snyder decides to do his version of it where you can stream old Sammy Baugh games. Very few WWE logos on NXT even though they used a Titon Tron. I think they maybe just need to get the refs out of the WWE logo shirts. The matches on those two NXT shows have been better then anything on RAW outside of a main event for years.

NXT is the best show WWE runs. And word is that Vince has nothing to do with it and it's all Triple H's deal.

  9. The problem is the WWE's core audience is ages 8-17ish and I can't imagine their parents being happy about 6 months worth of recurring payments going on a credit card. And the older fans who get it to view the attitude era/ecw/wcw stuff won't have long term incentive to stick around. I could see this working when the WWE had an older target audience, but not now.

Once again, I could be wrong :)

Unless you're an idiot and want to pay 50 bucks for one singular ppv there's absolutely no reason not to subscribe to this.

Why would parents be upset? For a 120 bucks a year their kid can see every pay per view. You'd spend that in 3/4 months if you paid for each PPV right now.

To add: Not only is this a game changer but this basically destroyed UFC's "Fight Pass" service. Which costs 900 bucks a year to WWEs 120. I guarantee you Dana White took notice of this. McMahon knows ppvs, White himself said he invented it basically, so you will have him to thank when UFC is offering their ppvs for 10 bucks a month.

  10. It's an incredible deal. If you only typically buy two PPVs a year, you are coming out way ahead.

I wonder what kind of numbers they need to make this work financially, because this is basically the end of PPV, which was always their main revenue source.

Yeah this will end the PPV buy rate measurement I'm curious too. Either way you can only buy it in 6 month or year subscriptions. So even if you buy 6 months just for Wrestlemania you are still paying for the 5 months of ppvs whether you watch them or not.

I don't see how it fails. Because ten bucks is so cheap I can see just about everyone who loves wrestling signing up for this.

  11. Did you guys see Jake the Snake? Haha that was cool but his entrance music is awful.

I'm no expert but that was a fun night of Raw.

So happy to see the old guys I use to hate/love make appearances. And really happy to see the DDP has turned his life around. I knew about the yoga thing..but I was surprised at how lucid and sober he looked.

His yoga has apparently helped a ton of people. Jake Roberts, Scott Hall, Dustin Rhodes. That's just the ones I can name.

  12. Daniel Bryan joined the Wyatt family at the end of RAW.

BTW, Bray Wyatt does that character so well. Better than Waylon Mercy. Was Mercy Dan Spivey?

And ROH being so good is a myth. I've seen ROH and I don't see what the big deal is.

Its the show for Internet smarks. It's great if you like watching matches end in time limit draws and handshakes.

  13. Bye bye Miesha.

GAME OVER! The UFC still has their super women's champion (that is rapidly becoming the fighter everyone will want to see lose).

I hope Rousey reigns supreme for a long time. I love a good villain. It's great for the sport.

Love the total heel move to not shake hands. Love you Ronda.

  14. Some of you are crazy. This is why I.can't stand the WWE and its flock.of sheep. AJ Styles is way established enough to not have to go through developmental. It's insulting to suggest otherwise. Hell, if they can make stars out of some of the no-talentless guys they have in the past, why couldn't they make a star out of AJ Styles?

And it's a mute point anyway, Styles leaving TNA is a work.

Not in Vince McMahon's eyes. He has no respect for TNA. And quite frankly I don't blame him. They're a huge joke. I'd rather watch ROH's high school gym like production over the trash TNA produces every week.

  15. Isn't Davey Richards already in Developmental?

I would like to see AJ go there just so Vince could show up one day and ask "What's with all the midgets?"

I think Richards is. Maybe Styles would too but it's moot since Vince doesn't like him. I never understood the fascination with him. He's boring as hell. His last character was a poor man's Sting without the makeup.
