    this makes no sense.

Kidd only became an acceptable shooter when he was near 40.

Come again?  Kidd was a terrible shooter and didn't shoot much late in his career.  That's what I want Wall to do.  I think you misunderstood what I was saying.  Wall shouldn't be scoring 20+ a night because when he does it's usually based on volume.

He's a career 31.8% 3pt shooter but he's been at 35.1% two of the last three seasons...so definitely some improvement. :)

I get your point about Wall not shooting as much but honestly, who else is going to shoot on this team?

You have a bunch of guys who can't create their own shots and most importantly lack "offensive aggressiveness":(

I knew we'd get back to Ernie somehow! :ols: :ols:

He's not a great shooter (obviously) but this is an exaggeration.

Part hyperbole, mostly truth.  But you got the point.

40.9%, 42.3%, 44.1%, 43.3%, 44.5%, 42.4% - those are his FG percentages each year.  And he's a career 31.8% from 3 point range.  I cringe when dude takes a jumper because it's usually not going in.  His best two-point shooting year was in 2014-15 and he shot 47.8%. The rest of the seasons are around 45% and below.

I'd rather him shoot the ball less and create for other players, that's all I'm saying.

  3. I reallllly want to love John Wall, but the only way I will is if they don't let him shoot the ball ever again outside of the paint.  Dude is a horrible shooter and has not improved at all.  I wish he'd play more like a Stockton/Kidd type and just dish out assists all night.  He has games where I'm like "wow, we have an elite top player!"  Then he has the games where he can't get out of his own way.  And I swear to God/Allah/Yahweh/BabyJeebus/Etc if he attempts anymore game winners, I'm gonna go postal.  I especially love when he dribbles the clock down at the end of games from 20 seconds and attempts an off balance buzzer beater with 2 guys draped all over him.  That's my favorite.

I know we're not trading him, but I wouldn't be sad if we listened to offers.

  4. I played Lansdowne on Saturday with some friends.  It was gorgeous out!  I shot 92, which is about average for me.  Lost a couple of balls, so the penalty strokes killt me.  It's in super nice shape right now and the greens were rolling well.

Probably going to play Twin Lakes on Sunday morning and walk it with a couple of buddies.  I did just buy a couple dozen of the Kirkland Signature golf balls.  They've gotten tremendous reviews, so I can't wait to try them out this weekend.

  5. I'm about a 16.5 hdcp and my friends are around 11-13.  I know I'm not very good, but I love to play.  It beats what most other people do with their free time!  We try to keep it below $65ish when we go play, but will gladly splurge on a nice course if the opportunity presents itself.  I get spoiled by getting to play Lansdowne so often for only twenty-five bones.

(I suck at golf, I just enjoy playing it for some masochistic reason)

    The pain feels...so good.

  6. Yeah, Virginia Oaks has not been very good the past few years.  Hopefully they can right the ship.

    Where does everyone play regularly?

My friends and I play 4-6 times a month.  The courses we frequent the most are Lansdowne (I get a sweet hookup), Twin Lakes, Algonkian, South Riding, Pleasant Valley, and Brambleton.  We have push carts so we walk the **** out of Twin/Donk/Brammy.

But admittedly I don't watch a lot of golf.  Maybe I'm missing something - maybe you DO need to hit that far nowadays.

You definitely have to hit it that far nowadays.  You can't be hitting 4 and 5 irons into a green when others are hitting 8 or 9 irons.  That's a huge disadvantage.

If you watch Henrik Stenson - he loves his 3 wood and smokes that thing.  But it's going the same distance as most player's drivers.

  8. If Tiger can get to the point where he's fully healthy and can play everyday with nothing hurting, then he's totally going to be back winning events on tour.  He just hasn't been healthy enough to put in the needed practice the last few years.  It's all about the repetitions.  I'm glad he decided to back out of the Safeway Open.

I don't know if he'll ever win majors again, but he can get around Augusta based off memory.  If there's a major he can snap off while not being on top of his game week in and week out, it's the Masters.  Maybe he'll give us a Jack moment in a couple of years.

Almost never watch Nats baseball on TV because of the cord cutting.

If I lived out of the area of my sports teams, I would totally cut the cord.  I basically have Xfinity just so I can see my O's, Caps, and Wiz, it seems.  That's the only thing stopping me.

If you have to go back in time to the 2003 Pats to make your point, you are reaaalllly reaching.

Well, did you understand the point, or not?  It's not reaching.

We can go more current, since you view that as more meaningful.

2014 Patiots won the SB, but lost in game 1 to the Dolphins by double digits

2011 Giants won the SB, but lost in game 1 to the Redskins by double digits

2007 Giants won the SB, but lost the first 2 games to the Cowboys and Packers by a combined score of 80-48

Everyone can disregard all of this information if they want, but the point is that the results of game 1 just don't mean ****.  The season is not over due to 1 poorly played game.  It's a marathon, not a sprint.  Yeah, I'm concerned about our defense, but making a snap judgment of this team right now is not the right time.  Wait until we get 4 or 5 games in before we hit the panic button over alarming trends.

I'm not as hyped this year as I normally am.  I don't know why I'm not as excited about the new season.  Yesterday was boring watching the games.  I took a nap during the 1:00 games and read the paper and fixed dinner during the 4:00 games. Barely watched the night game.

Dude, there were a bunch of AWESOME games and finishes yesterday!!  I saw your post about disliking the part about how it's the same teams all of the time, but it's seriously a week to week league.  Most of the games came down to the last couple of minutes.  I was parked on RZC all day and it was fantastic.

I've been a hot mess at work today.  I didn't want to do much work anyway, but my laptop totally crashed at about 11am.  I'm up and running on a different laptop (lateral move lol) but it's about too late to accomplish anything of significance.

I'm so anxious, excited, and super nervous for this game.  Hopefully Lucy doesn't pull the football away, again, for yet another prime time game.  Please, let's do something great for the national viewing audience!
