    Re: Scott Brooks.

Hail-Mary hire by EG to get Durant that failed miserably yet somehow still pans out?

    or

Really savvy choice by EG to lead his talented team in the Spread/3pt era?

Whichever one is the negative spin towards EG is the one I'll always choose LOL.

But in all seriousness, Brooks' track record in OKC as a head coach was very good.  He was a great choice for a coach regardless of the Durant connection and ensuing debacle.  He's the most underrated signing of the NBA offseason, imo.

  2. Happy Eldrick Day!

Bogey on #1 and a few pars.  Hope he's legit healthy this time around and gets his game back.  He'll definitely win again if he's healthy.

  3. Lots of folks wanted Nerlens Noel over Porter. Noel was supposed to go #1.  But at the time, Otto filled a need at SF with Ariza gone and we "couldn't" draft someone at #3 who would be out the whole year.  Just glad the Cavs scooped Bennett before Ernie could make that terrible pick.  Otto was the safe pick, but he's turning out to be a stud.

Ernie will never be forgiven for handing out that deal to Gil.  How do you give $100m to damaged goods?

  4. I'm a big fan of Czaban.  I've listened to him forever.  Even though Andy would always get on my nerves and he's a weenie, he had great chemistry with Czabe and it made the show work.  I don't agree with both of their opinions a lot, but it was an entertaining show for me and it helps that they're both born and raised in the area.  I'll miss hearing Andy on 980 basically because he's been on the air since i was in high school.

  5. I use the Golf Logix app and just pay for the yearly service.  I don't track my clubs or anything but I use it to keep score and figure out distances.  I also use a bushnell tour v3 rangefinder to give me yardage to the stick.  I really only need like a 10 yard range estimate to figure out what club to hit.  I'm not exactly puring every shot out there, lol.

To me..unless you are <15 handicap, people need to stop playing from the tips. That alone would speed up a lot of it..

Seriously!  I'm around a 16ish handicap but I am Mr. White Tee.  I play with a few friends who are closer to 10 hdcp and they like playing further back.  I know my limits and will play from whatever tees are like 5,600-6,000 yards, max.  I struggle when the par 4's are over 400 yards because I'm not long off the tee.  I don't need 200+ yard second shots because the game is hard enough as it is!  It's nice (for me) to be able to hit a 7 iron into a par 4 instead of going driver-3 wood and still coming up short.

this is why i like to tee off between 6 am and 7 am. half of my buddies tell me to go eff off when i ask them if they want to play then, the other half are with me. you just don't have those problems at that time of day.

towards the end of last season i made the mistake of going out there at like 1:30 on a saturday. at the turn i quit and went home. it was going to be a 5+ hour round, just don't have time for that nonsense.

My buddies and I like to walk when we can (clicgear posse!).  On the weekends, we'll try to get the earliest tee time possible.  It doesn't get much better on the golf course than teeing off with nobody in front of you.  The rounds are shorter, the temperature is cooler, AND when you're home by 10am, you have the whole day to do whatever you want.  If you tee off at 10am or later, that's like automatically a 5 hour round, and the whole day is shot.
