I'm fully aware of the Redskins past in the 50's and 60's even though I wasn't really around to see it. My mom is a big fan and she used to tell me about the 50's. I appreciate the year Lombardi was here because he changed the outlook of the franchise as a whole and we were lucky Allen, Pardee, Gibbs were able to carry it on.

So very wrong indeed. From what I've read and heard, he was totally trying to make us like the Pack, but he wouldn't admit it. I mean, you go from Burgundy helmets to gold/yellow and the pants go from gold to Championship gold (if that really exists). Yeah, he was trying to be Green Bay south.

I think you need to raise that age to under 50. I'm 39 and I didn't start watching football until 1976. By then the feather helmet (which I find the ugliest although unique in it's nature) the spear and the R helmet were before my time.

I don't want the R helmet to be permanent, but I don't mind rocking them for a couple of games.

Have you ever lived in DC? I was born and raised in the area. It gets 95+ with unbeleivable humidity coming off the Chesapeke Bay. Funny thing, when I went to Memphis State, people asked where I was from and I told them Maryland. Now, this was September and someone actually said "It should be snowing up there right now, huh?" You're right. Gold or Black is not our primary color. Any mention of this should be an automatic 30 day ban from the site.

Black is NOT a color in our scheme. It's only a highlight on the emblem. No black uni's EVER. Detroit, Philly, etc. look like crap in them.

Color's don't make a team badass. talent and desire do. So I guess the Raiders were Badass looking on the field, but played like crap to the tune of 2-14.

Don't forget about the helmet with the white and red feather coming up the back to the top of the helmet. Those were our 1950's helmets.

While I can't confirm that that is true, it is something that the older fans and the media said at one time.

Probably the white uni tops with Gold pants. Think the opposite of the 70th anny uniform.

Detroit, Philly, Most of the NBA, MLB and NHL as alternate 3rd jerseys. I don't mind them being sold to the fans who want them (I'd never pay a penny for one- but to each his own) but I don't ever want them on the field with a Redskins logo on it. Let the other teams mangle their colors. And GOLD uni's would make me puke also. The Wizards gold unis are terrible IMO.
