    1) Yeah, I know, but we always pay, or initiate payments, before then.   I've been hoarding points :)   The "Chalk Talk" thing will be the first time I've ever redeemed any.

    2) Agreed, my statement was purely tongue-in-cheek.   I figure a great deal of ES posters are so negative, and think that the Skins are so conniving, that I would jump on the bandwagon, and post ridiculous **** too.

I don't look at our tickets as an investment, that's just silly.  I know that we can go to games cheaper getting tix on the open market, (we learned that when we split our tickets for the 2015 season), but we love our seats,(under cover), enjoy the camaraderie with the fans around us, and it's definitely a plus not dicking around, scrambling to find tickets and parking passes.

I'm surprised at how many people jump ship, or say that they will,  (maybe not as far as ST's go), but for everything else.  We're in it for the long-haul

... as I thought our front office was until this three-way with San Fran and Dallas to bring [R]omo to town surfaced which I believe gets amplified now that Pierre has signed out west.

WTOP has a great article - http://wtop.com/sports-columns/2017/03/redskins-back-old-tricks - and making me glad that I have not committed to this year's season tickets yet.

so whats the scenario... we beat nyg AND det loses to gb?

While not winning keeps us out, the only way we win and still miss is if Green Bay and Detroit tie.

Based on the scenarios (courtesy of the ESPN Playoff Machine) that assumes us winning, the NO-ATL game will eliminate one travel site.  A Falcons home win gives them the number two seed and takes a trip to Atlanta out of play while a Saints upset takes a cross country trip off the table.  Wins by the Falcons and 49ers also take the cross country trip out of play.

  3. Mine went away as soon as I upgraded.

I know the first year or two, 24 hours after you upgraded you could hop back in. I don't remember for how long. I cannot remember if you could get back in last year or not. I definitely haven't been able to yet...

I remember going in a few times during my window last year as I did move to the other end zone (from east to west), keeping an eye for a pair on the aisle.

Then again, the process started later this year so the window may be smaller and/or you get one crack at the change as a result.

  4. so i guess once you go through the upgrade process you're locked out? no more upgrading multiple times? my link still hasn't shown up :(

oh well. I can understand why they did that, but you could easily log in at your upgrade time and find seats that are OK, only to log in 3 days later and find seats someone just gave up that are much better.

probably messed with the system though...

I was left with the impression that you had a window of time during which you could move as many times as you wanted provided the seats were the same cost or greater ... (no downgrading)

  5. May 27th at 4pm, blah!! wont be anything available to move, to where I want to im sure, im in 103 now

Jeff ... mine starts tomorrow at 1400/2pm which is when I also need to get on the road for Christiansburg (state bowling meeting Saturday morning).  Thankfully, I don't see myself making any changes.

I like the two I have on the aisle - 113/23/22-23 - and they are a row behind the last of the bleacher seats.  The last seat of the row in front of me is 21 so I also love how I have basically nothing in front of my left knee.

It will be interesting to see where the open seats are, though ...

    Congrats on your move ...

  6. I just got an e-mail that my seats are being moved to make room for the band moving back to the lower level.  :(  I like where my seats are.

One thing that was mentioned at the Fan Forum was the band being moved to Lower Level and I think they were in the 210s before being kicked upstairs to the Club Level.

I'm in section 113/23 and, as far as I know, I haven't received any notification that mine are being moved.

    Tailgating:
70 percent of ticket holders say they tailgate (redskins survey)
    Lots of complaints about tailgaters
Redesigning the lots to make tailgating safer, easier, less of a hassle for late arrivers
New horn system that will sound to warn people to start heading inside so we have more people in the seats for kickoff
Finally someone stuck up for us tailgaters. Allen seems certain they can fix this without punishing tailgaters. "Our vetern tailgaters will not be forced to find a new location"
More gates open to get people in faster

That was probably me, sitting third row on the aisle (behind Tailgate Ted).

Bruce did visit our tailgate on the home finale in 2013 and I mentioned our specific area at the start.  It was memorable because, just as we were finishing up the side panels, the skies opened up and we were in a downpour.  The next we know it, an entourage of suits runs underneath that includes Bruce.

What we got out of it was working on enforcing the rules that were put in place six years ago; the changes to the parking lot configuration should help that.

I also had the chance to chat with Josh Epstein at the end of the night who has been our point of contact these last couple of seasons with regards to these logistics.  I feel confident that the well established tailgates, especially those in "dead zones" (as Ted put it), will remain intact.

Doesn't sound like much of interest except saying that longtime tailgaters will not have to move their spots. This parking stuff has been discussed over and over. At one fan captain event I went to I was told the police do not want traffic all pouring out at once onto 495 which is why they let the lights run on exit and don't just clear people out.

Good point, Dave.  There are three points at which to enter the Beltway; yet, sadly, there are only three points with no additional ramps/flyovers to help funnel traffic.

  8. Although I missed the 1 April deadline as well, I did call earlier this week concerned about the issues to be discussed in tonight's fan forum.  They allowed me until Friday (the 10th) to make a final commitment on this year's tickets.

With all this new information, I may follow HOF44's lead from a few years ago and not renew.  I can't help but feel like a second class fan in that my 11 years as a season ticket holder (which pales in comparison to others) rates lower than those who gave it up.

  9. I hope that the "dedicated tailgating area" doesn't affect the ES tailgate.

I agree that tailgaters shouldn't take uo extra spaces, but trying to get to the game an hour before kickoff is just poor planning...

I was given a heads up about this just yesterday (Monday the 16th) so I am still working to get a handle on this.

The "herd the tailgaters to the back end of a parking lot" discussion was at about this time six years ago.  Back then, I believe the problems were prevalent in green lots; our orange lot wasn't an issue.  I was able to get my concerns resolved with respect to the specific area where we tailgate, and continues to be solid (although there was an RV type vehicle that took up seven parking spaces in the front of our lot at the Eagles game).

I don't know if there is a real solution here.  Each major tailgate's location is strategic and I don't see people very happy with uprooting from their location.  This coming season, another tailgate from a nearby lot will be joining ours because of our strategic location; I would hate to see it go away.

Two things need to be stressed:

    1. You can't expect to find preferred parking (i.e., front row) when you leave your house an hour before kickoff; it's just not going to happen.
    2. Tailgaters need to do so responsibly which includes not taking several parking spaces with tents and such.

Perhaps the Fan Captains can help with the latter?

  10. I had mine held at a FedEx location for pickup; having gotten the e-mail yesterday that they were being sent, I was quite surprised that they were ready this morning.

Needless to say, I have them in my possession now.   :)

  11. Zorn said last year that he wants to wear whites when its hot....and burg in the winter so we will more than likely see white in the beginning and burg later on like last year...

We won more games with home white than home burgundy last year ... would that give the team more incentive to wear white at home?

Presuming the home colors hold, we're looking at four with both:

    20-Sep: Sun, 1300, Rams - WHITE

    04-Oct: Sun, 1300, Bucs - WHITE

    18-Oct: Sun, 1300, Chiefs - WHITE

26-Oct: Mon, 2040, Eagles - Dark (late October night game)

    15-Nov: Sun, 1300, Broncos - Dark

    06-Dec: Sun, 1300, Saints - Dark

    21-Dec: Mon, 2040, Giants - Dark

27-Dec: Sun, 2025, Cowgirls - WHITE (make 'em wear blue)

    my 0.02

  12. I think sometimes they will wear the dark jerseys to force the other team to wear white, when they would rather wear their dark color. Think the Eagles like wearing Green. Pittsburgh like black. I could be wrong though.

The premise of wearing white at home has always been to force Dallas to wear their road blues since they are one of the few teams that also have home white. The Pukes had to wear those blues in Cleveland and (oddly enough) St. Louis as well.

A number of other teams usually split their season with white early, then dark late at home; Philadelphia, Carolina, Tampa, Jacksonville, Houston come to mind.

Miami does white for day games but teal for the night games at home (less the handful of times they went with orange - they wore that against us in 2003).

My first years of watching the Redskins were home white with burgundy pants under Gibbs I which succeeding coaches kept until the year of Marty-ball. I'd like to see us go back to it ...

    :2cents::2cents:

  13. I like the classic look tonight. Back to business!

This was refreshing to see, something we should use every time Dallas comes to town.

Throwbacks ... I remember a time not too long ago when the home teams on the Sunday following Thanksgiving wore them. We hosted the Saints in 2003 at that point in time and we wore the throwbacks that were featured the year before.

Perhaps not the 75th anniversary uniforms but reach back into the 60's or 70's ... would be pretty cool.

    :2cents::2cents::2cents:

  14. I hope you're not somehow inferring that the colors of the jersey have something to do with the outcome of the game? That's just silly. NFL players have their superstitions, to be sure, but they're not the paranoiacs that MLB players are. Uniform jersey colors have about as much to do with determining the outcome of games as I do.

Going back through the years ... the Giants wore white at home through much of the 1980's to make Dallas wear their road blue. And the Eagles went home white for the 1980 NFC Championship game, forcing Dallas to wear road blue. Back then, some felt it was the case ...

The year Schottenheimer was here (2001), we were home dark all year ... we had a six game winning streak going into our home game with them and they did not have much of a team that year either. But they beat us 17-7 with Quincy Carter at QB ...

And a few years ago, Carolina hosted the Pukes in a wild card game and the Panthers went home white. I distinctly remember John Madden commenting about their road blues and something not being right with that.

It may not make a difference to us but I've always felt it is a psychological advantage against the Cowgirls when they have to wear road blue. So why not use that to our advantage? Spurrier may have been a bad coach but he did respect the home white against Dallas ...

That said, I am getting a little tired of the white on white look. Someone else said white is not a Redskin color. I wouldn't go that far, but to see it so predominantly is not a Redskin "thing" IMHO.

I'm not a fan of white-on-white either ... if it were mine to make, it would be white jerseys and burgundy pants (with the gold and white stripes). That was the home uniform for all but a handful of my years following them.

    :2cents::2cents::2cents:

  15. Thanks Xav. Ya learn something every day. So what PJFootballer is impying is, he has inside info. Interesting.

I still remember the home opener in 2002, the year of our 70th anniversary uniforms, we made a late change to home white because of the extreme heat.

And last year's wild card game at Tampa ... the Buccaneers, who had been wearing their home red through the end of the regular season, went home white because it was warm and humid at game time in Tampa.

That's why I've always felt teams had more time to lock these decisions down; say, a week or two before the game day.

Hopefully, Zorn has declared that we are home white for all games against Dallas. :dallasuck

    :cheers::cheers::cheers:

  16. Some of you are getting your wish. Burgundy jerseys on white pants at home for the last 4 games.

Someone in another thread mentioned that we would wear white at home when Dallas came, quoting the reason Zorn decided this: "to annoy Dallas."

The Rams wore home white yesterday and pummeled Dallas in their blues 34-14 ... a few years ago, Carolina hosted the 'girls in a wild card game and opted for home white even though they go home dark in October. Carolina won it pretty handily ...

Whatever we do the other seven regular season home games, we need to always, ALWAYS wear HOME WHITE against Dallas.

    cheers

  17. It appears Zorn is doing a Spurrier ...

    http://theredskinsblog.com/2008/07/28/back-to-the-equipment-room-brad-on-jersey-colors-etc/

... but, unlike Spurrier who respected the tradition of wearing home white for the Dallas game, it looks like we're going to let the Cowpukes wear THEIR home colors in OUR park.

For the all the years I've been following the Redskins, we've been predominantly a HOME WHITE team. Since 1978, when I arrived in Washington, we had home dark for six seasons: 1978-1980 and 2001-2003. We never made the playoffs in any of them.

Hey Zorn: home white for ALL home games !!

    cheers
