  1. I think a Rock vs CM Punk program would be sweet. But I don't think The Rock could hang on the mic. :D

that's really saying something there. I know I would sure be interested in seeing him try. They've pretty much set it up with the promos that Punk cut last year calling him "Dwyane" and the biggest ass kisser. That would be a hell of a feud.

  2. It would be very hard for The Rock to be the heel in Miami. If he doesn't win, there might be a riot.

My bold prediction is that Cena turns heel at WM.

The E is well aware at how much the fans want to see Cena as a heel but they are too afraid that they are going to lose out on that money from him being the uber Hulk Hogan (80's Hulkamania) kind of face. It's like they forgot how much money Hogan brought in as Hollywood.

  3. Am I the only one who likes ADR? You're all just jealous cause none of you have a personal ring announcer.

and Ricardo Rodriguez snuck into HHH's office, and texted Kevin Nash. Either that, or ADR paid Steph or Lauranitis to do it.....

No, i really dig his in ring skill and some of his promos but he really laid an egg on Monday when they gave him his time to gloat. I still say his best was the show in Canada when he started complaining about all of the dirty border jumpers trying to sneak in to the US from Canada.

  4. I have no problem with the wwe creative so far. They've been doing things that keep me wondering about the storylines and have me tuning into every show for new info. I was a little upset that they didn't have a whole lot of matches slated for Summer Slam but they appeared to be building that PPV around the championship matches and eventual cash in by Del Rio.

  5. Well, if he's really not with the WWE anymore, then I think HHH handled it awesomely. If this is an angle, then they both pulled it off well.

I like the idea of HHH running stuff, but getting his hands dirty once in awhile. Its a good storyline like Austin/Vince over a decade ago. HHH brings back Punk with the title.....Punk holds the title for awhile and HHH puts together a stable of guys to go after him. The anti-hero stuff would work well there.

The whole comment about how the company couldn't be run by "the doofus son-in-law" lead me to believe they were going this direction with this storyline. It's great what they are doing. It's got folks interested in WWE programming again.

  6. J

    B) Goofy Michael Cole, who's head seems to have drastically expanded, feuding with Jerry Lawler? Lawler always threatened to kick Coles ass back in the day, but I never thought that it would lead to something like this abomination.

    d) Who the **** is King Shamus?

Those are my thoughts. Sorry for the minor crapfest.

When JR was taken off the airways sometime last year, Cole became the lead announcer. It was boring as hell and you had a number of fans that didn't like him because he wasnt JR. So they decided to try a heel persona for him during the first NXT and it got rave reviews. Ever since then they slowly introduced the character and now he's a full blown heel. To be honest, it really has made the broadcast more interesting. This whole ordeal with a match between he and Lawler is trash in my opinion. It seems like the WWE just told us which match will serve as our bathroom break at this year's 'Mania.

As for Sheamus...he was a guy that was pushed to the moon by WWE creative most of 2010. He won the championship in like 2 months or something like that. Since then he has be buried like none other because the head of WWE creative doesn't like the way he did something regarding the Nexus angle. It really is sad because I think he was on his way to becoming one of the top heels on Raw. Since then, they actually resurrected the "King of the Ring" gimmick for Raw simply to have him win and have to wear that silly looking outfit.

  7. My favorite match of all time was the Rock vs HHH in a ladder match at Summer Slam for the Intercontinental Title in the late 90's. Neither of them were superstars yet. Rock was a heel but I loved him. My brother and our friends loved HHH. I've never been that into a match before. It was amazing. Perfection. I've always considered that the arrival of both of them.

    LOL @ the Crock

LOL @ the old Rock intro...i forgot how basic sounding it was.

LOL @ the Mark Henry. I cannot imagine why that guy is still around. I guess maybe he's a decent trainer.

  8. Well if Rock really does plan on sticking around, they only need one alpha male face character. Rock was a good heel, but I think he was always better as a face.

And he's ten times better than Cena, who actually was probably the best face on the WWE roster at the moment. So making him a heel is a good idea.

They were able to pull off the multiple heel/face thing years ago, because... Well... There were multiple heels and faces.

Now there's not much. Who's that guy on Smackdown? Zig Ziggler? I've never been a fan of Edge really... Orton is a decent heel. Miz is a good heel. CM Punk is at least charasmatic. I haven't heard of pretty much anyone else, like that tool who won the Royal Rumble... What's his name? Razor Ramon Lite? I seriously don't know who 85% of these guys are. And when I do see them, they scream "dud" to me, like in the 80s and 90s on Superstars when Hulk Hogan would face "Brian Brianson" and just kick the piss out of him the entire match. They remind me of those guys.

They now have a premiere face back on the roster, at least for the time being. So now they need a heel.

What's funny with Del Rio is that they have essentially made him, a mix of JBL, Eddie Guerro, Million Dollar Man more than Razor Ramon. I dig his character and his subtle charisma but I still haven't seen him in the ring.

From what i can see(I've just started giving Smackdown another chance over the past two months), Smackdown is now the developmental show. Yeah you got Taker, Kane, Mysterio and a few others there to fill out the top card, but overall it appears to be a testing ground.

  9. SuperCena defies the odds once again...give me a friggin' break! They could drop the atomic bomb on him and he'd still end up winning a 10-on-1 handicapped match.

I stand by what I said 4 months ago: wrestling died for me when HBK retired at WM26.

I'm going to start watching TNA, ROH, CZW, and PWG more often. I'm so glad I read results online and did not pay for that crap.

a)They are working hard to put Cena over as the Hoganesque face of the company and it really grates on the viewer. That's why you have sooo many "Cena Sucks" chants during the shows. In my opinion he just doesn't have the same type of charisma to pull if off but their new target demographic eats it up nonetheless. I do respect that he is using his power in the company for good and is willing to put over some of the underexposed workers (Evan Bourne).

    B) It's a shame that wrestling died for you when HBK left because there are many great wrestlers out there now. Quite a few of those guys learned from your beloved HBK.

    c) Everything on that list looks good to me except for CZW.

  10. Probably because Orton has absolutely zero personality. I mean "The Viper?" "The Apex Predator?" Come on.

It's hard to really sell yourself as a main event, upper-card guy when your entire gimmick is being a quiet psycho. Orton just walks out, speaks in his bland monotone voice, and then rolls his eyes around as if that demonstrates how unpredictable he actually is.

    ZZZzzzzzzzzzz

Yeah a buddy and I were talking about that last night while watching Raw. When they returned from a commercial break, they showed old Austin/Taker footage and then cut to Randy backstage talking to Sheamus and it hit me. It's just like you said, he has absolutely no charisma but Vince and the story writers keep forcing his character down our throats.

Also: Was Heyman officially hired for TNA? I heard that Dreamer was running and setting up that storyline with the hopes of Heyman eventually signing.

  11. I don't really like the angle and really don't see why the fans are so behind him. I know the majority of sheep change sides like a woman changes her mind, but still. Typically, I have usually always pulled for the bad guys first, then if they turn good, it's still good.

No doubt. Count me as one that just doesn't like Orton all that much whether he's a heel or a face. There was a quick second when he was running Legacy and he came off as someone cool because of the psychotic angle but something he did wound up ruining it for me. Maybe his pose?! i dunno.

  12. I figured that with his rumored involvement with SummerSlam that it could be The Rock. If not him, it'll probably be revealed that it's been Michael Cole all along.

speaking of Austin. I think they are trying to go with a whole "Guy who's not good or bad, but the fans like" angle with Orton.

Out for himself, but no longer the pyscho who's just out to hurt people.

That is a definite. I'm not sure if you've been watching a lot of wrestling over the past couple of months, but the second they started calling him "the Viper" everyone figured he was going to be Austin 2.0.

  13. It's fun to hear themes for the old school wrestlers that are still in the biz. DX always kept their theme that would get your blood flowing 20 seconds before you even saw them. That just doesn't happen anymore.

You make a good point. Here's my all time fave wrestling entrance.

I used to love it when Dusty came out to this song. Although I think he used the Bo Diddley version a few times.
