Didn't one of Dan's lawyers admit he stopped Snyder from giving that woman a lift in his limo?...I don't recall when he may have said it (or how), I read it here I think or on twitter during the roundtable. If so, that would be direct proof that what she claimed did indeed happen.

Per the article, the team and League did agree to the mutual protection agreement. The NFL essentially withdrew from the agreement when Congress began snooping, thereby losing legal access to the investigation documents. The League says, we cant release because we no longer have the documents, and Snyder says I cant nor will I release client/ attorney privileged documents because I dont have the league’s approval.  So sort of a legal limbo. 

 

Espn article expands stating a league limbo situation has been created. The nfl contends they have legally lost access to investigation documents and snyder can say he cant release because the league cant approve.

The Common Interest Agreement shows that the investigation was not an independent exercise aimed at smoking out and putting a stop to wrongdoing, no matter the consequences. It was purely a legal maneuver, aimed at allowing the team and the league to create the impression that Wilkinson was turning over rocks and chasing leads while at all times securing full control over how she handled what she found, in the name of managing potential liability.

By its own terms, the Common Interest Agreement provides that Wilkinson would “conduct an independent investigation into allegations lodged against [the Commanders] of hostile workplace culture, including but not limited to, allegations of sexual harassment and bullying . . . and to provide legal advice and guidance in connection with the Investigation.” (Emphasis added.) Thus, Wilkinson was never hired to investigate the situation with the goal of creating a report that would be disseminated publicly, like Ted Wells’s Deflategate opus. She was hired to gauge the extent of the mess and to help the league and the team clean it up.

This is what I think "could" happen as well, depending on how the Flores stuff shakes out. That seems like the most realistic way Snyder gets forced out: a clean sweep of disreputable owners. But if Flores comes up empty....

The article also said this:

"The House Committee for Oversight and Reform also released a second document Friday that shows how the team requested a "written investigation" from Beth Wilkinson's law firm..."

Goodell ended up saying there would be no written report....if even the team wanted a written report, why would Goodell shoot down that idea?

I would just add that there are only 32 nfl teams in the whole world - so if you wanted to do what you do, for an nfl team, you’re kinda stuck taking the offer you get. he’s basically mr Smithers. Except I actually think he’s a bright guy, trying hard to do his best. It’s just… garbage in garbage out, right? If what snyder gives you to work with is garbage, than the best he can give us is garbage he tried to make look nice

 

He was brought in to clean up the toxic workplace culture and establish some standards that would keep this from happening again. That was priority #1. I can't speak on how well he's done his duties in that arena (doubt any of us can besides maybe some of the mods)...only the employees can. I had heard progress reports were issued at certain times to keep track of how that area is doing, but not sure how true that is or anything. But that goes beyond beefing up the HR department or firing perpetrators (who I think were already gone by the time Wright came on board). I would love some sort of investigative piece detailing what changes have taken place and whether or not the employees notice a difference for the better. But I highly doubt too many media outlets would want to publish a piece that makes it look like they're excusing past behavior or exonerating Snyder in any way, so an article like that isn't likely to get pitched to too many editors lol...

The other stuff he's been given--name rebrand, fan experience--are at best hit and miss. Then again, all three of those simultaneously is a lot to handle for a multi-billion dollar enterprise. Add on getting tweeted at daily by fans calling him a liar and a yes-man and wanting to start hashtag movements to #firejasonwright doesn't make it any easier, either (or necessarily any harder, though).

I have a hard time believing anyone would be worse no matter how much money they have, or don't have for that matter. There is always that chance. But just having $177B does not make someone like snyder. He is a total POS as a human being. And having more money than him does not mean he is the same guy. 

 

Given the last 25+ years of snyder. I am willing to take our chances with jsut about anyone else on the planet. And yes there is always the chance they are worse. But the chances are much better they are not. 

 

I 100% hope so. We all know this team never really changes significantly as long as snyder owns the team. I just do not have a lot of faith anything will happen. I would be glad to be wrong. 

That's not what I meant...I meant it as the role money plays in how an owner runs the organization. I didn't mean it as every owner who has $177 billion would behave the same way, but that an owner like Snyder would feel even more emboldened to do all the **** he's done, and more. Money can be like alcohol--bring a person's character to the surface and intensify it. He'd be 25 times more insufferable, stubborn, and dictator-like--and would meddle 25 times more as well--if he felt he could buy all the other franchises in the NFL without blinking.

I just cannot see the argument that he has too much money to want to own a team. Major sports owners do not do it to make money. They do it as a hobby, as a toy, a trophy.

I do, though, think like you do that most owners of an NFL team don't become owners to make money. It's usually a long-time goal rooted in things other than financial gain (not that money doesn't play any role in wanting to, of course).

EDIT: Now minority owners might be a different issue.

The conversation looks like he realizes he's talking to Flores. And when Flores questions it he goes back to read the text as if he's saying, "Huh... the guy is going to get the Giants job and he has no idea?" and then realizes the text he got about the Giants says Brian DABOLL, not Brian Flores.

The guy I contract with and my daughter not only don't have the same last name, they don't have the same first name lol...if he had been texting with both Brians somewhat close together, it may be more an issue of muscle memory than anything. At least that's what it was with me.

Belichick's last text seems to indicate he read the text he got on who the Giants coach was going to be wrong and sent the congrats to the wrong guy.

If he had been texting both "Brians" recently he could get it mixed up if not paying attention. I've sent text to the guy I contract with that were meant for my daughter lol...
