I’m new school and I’m probably going to the good place with Janet, so I pick her. Optimistic and knowledgeable. Although, if I go to the good place, I will miss my heavy metal, but I’ll enjoy the frozen yogurt.

When Michael was trying to change Janet's personality settings and she accidentally slipped into "Overt Sexuality" mode...I was like "Sign me up!!" lol...

Seems like Carson is getting good reviews from the local media, only naysayer that I've noticed is Sheehan who thinks Wentz was just "ok" yesterday and thought he struggled on some throws.

Keim is saying what I was saying, that my fear was Wentz would be underwhelming like I thought Fitz was last preseason and was glad that didn’t happen. Can’t remember who said it on this thread (hell, might have been you lol) but Wentz made the offense look like an actual NFL offense…he also looked HUGE out there at times, really underscored just how much I got used to seeing Heinicke’s smaller stature out there.

I think Howell should be #2 and might work his way up to #2 before the PS or the season is over with.  Arm strength and running ability are much better than TH.  I really like TH too but as our #3.

Not sure his running ability is any better than Heinicke’s…TH can seriously run. Arm strength is beyond question, though.

All this said, it's nowhere near impossible that Heinicke looks sharp next week and Howell throws 2 picks.  Better for us if it goes the other way, but...

someone here used to get giddy after Cousins’ first preseason game each year for the Vikings…he’d go something like 9/12 for 140 yds and a TD. The dude would crow about it on the Cousins thread, and I would always say wait till the 2nd game—Kirk usually looks like crap in that one. I’d be called a hater, etc blah blah. Sure enough, Cousins would be something like 2/8 for 19 yards and an INT in the next game lol…so, yeah, always the reality that the tables could turn next preseason game. But Howell’s arm ain’t changing lol…it’s a legit NFL arm, and he’s supposed to be developing this year anyway. I’m cool with that still being the plan if needed.

No. He was saying there wasn’t a huge drop off to warrant Heinicke having a roster spot as the number 2 QB.

I think he’s saying that Heineke, by far, was a huge drop off from Wentz and Howell. Lol

I thought he was saying Heinicke was the huge drop off that occurred in between Wentz and Howell lol…

Did any of us get it right, KB? lol…

The drop off that happened between Wentz and Howell showed just how little Heinicke belongs on the field.

    Huh?

EDIT: wait, I think I get it now lol…I was thinking you were comparing Wentz and Howell and saying there was a huge drop off when comparing the two…but that’s not what you were saying, right?

Yeah, I hear you.  And as I said before, TH is like a Binky for Ron and Scott Turner.  So they might just go with TH no matter what...

You made me think of how Ron started Haskins late in the 2020 season when Smith couldn't start because the playoffs were on the line...I thought "When did Haskins become our best chance of making the playoffs?" lol...Ron may be a riverboat gambler on certain plays but I don't think he is when it comes to whom he starts. At the same time I also think that if Howell not just beats out Heinicke for the #2 but runs away with it, he'll toss his "binky" into the closet without a second glance.

Heinicke could drop off the roster and into the ocean, and I wouldn't care.  If Howell had to start, I'd prefer him to start as a 5th round rookie with the tools he has and live with the inexperience and rookie mistakes rather than dumb the offense down into a 12X12 box again with TH.

The only thing is it's not really us who has to live with it...pretty sure Rivera would consider the inexperience and rookie mistakes harder and more seriously than fans would.

if this team were, say, 6-2 and Wentz had to go out for like a month, I'm guessing Rivera isn't gonna want to use that span of games to start developing a rookie QB. If Heinicke were dropped off the roster and into the ocean, I think Ron would replace him with a vet backup and not just elevate Howell.

  8. My first time really watching Howell...I like his arm! Has to work on accuracy a bit but I really liked what I saw. I don't care who he was going up against. Heinicke could drop to #3, that's how much I liked his game lol. Howell definitely needs development, though.

I was glad Wentz did not give me the same "meh" vibes that Fitzpatrick did last preseason...that was my only real worry (and that he might get injured).

So much for not being an expansion team.

And people wondered why the name was so important.

It feels like I randomly picked a new team this year and am forcing myself to be a fan because it's all I've ever known.

    Here's to hoping it works!

it feels the exact opposite for me…the players make the team in my eyes and heart. Only way it feels like an expansion team for me is if the entire roster and coaching staff is new. Otherwise, cheering on McLaurin this season won’t feel any different than cheering him on last season or in 2019.

But how did the *entire party* (except like three people) stare down a true moral crisis and make the conscious choice to continue down the road with this absolute charlatan?

Right after Jan 6 many of those top Republicans went on record as saying enough was enough when it comes to Trump...they were telling the country that they were giving up on him...and like a week later were walking down that road again, as if they never said any of it.

Lots of people have Duieies. Not everyone has dragged a cheerleader into their limo or kidnapped a bunch of them in a foreign country to sell to rich friends.

And Snyder never had one of his coaches get their house shot up with over 80 bullets by “accident,” like the drug-addicted Irsay, either…
