  1. This isn't a story but a (sort of) philosophical question...

Would you rather experience an incredible, amazing, fulfilling year but at the end of that year retain absolutely no memory of it, or be implanted with the memory of having an incredible, amazing, fulfilling year that in reality you never had?

It basically asks which is more important: the experience or the memory of it?

Again, I think it would mostly be people who were already big Heinicke fans who would be calling for him. Most people know he's only a backup and is too limited to run the offense outside of spot duty when a team hasn't been able to game plan for him.

Though I guess it also depends on how "bad" Wentz is playing. Is he at 10 TDs and 8 INTs and mostly underwhelming? Or is he at 3 TDs and 10 INTs and is absolutely atrocious? If the former, no reason to give Heinkcke the nod because it's unlikely he'd be able to do much better. If it's the latter, then sure. But given Wentz's history I don't see any reason to believe he'd be that godawful.

For this fan base? Overthrowing a wide-open Dotson downfield on the first drive against the Jags will be enough lol…

Can anyone that is down on Wentz after two preseason games explain to me what they are so down about?

Personally, I’ve seen nothing that really excites me or gives me pause.

My take on all three QBs hasn’t changed one iota, outside of being more impressed with Howell’s NFL arm than I thought I would be. Actually, I take that back: my view on Howell has changed for the better…I get the excitement over him now. But I still feel he needs a lot of time and development to move up to the #2 spot, nonetheless become starter. Admittedly, though, I’m not considering his time in training camp, where he could be doing rather well (I don’t really have any idea lol)…

Well, I think it would be most contingent upon whether or not Howell takes the backup job.

I think if Heinicke keeps it, they probably wouldn't pull Wentz, even if he was playing poorly, because they know exactly what they have in TH and they've made it clear that he a pure backup and not a starter. They'd probably roll with Wentz for the season and then get rid of him after this year.

If Howell wins the backup job then that means the coaches obviously think he's good enough to play now. So then if Wentz is truly stinking it up I could see it as more likely that they'd think of a QB change. (still may be unlikely though)

IMO the only way Heinicke sees the field this season is if Wentz is injured (and he kept the backup job, of course).

You’re talking about what the coaches would do if Wentz was sucking eggs. I’m talking about what the fans will say.  A lot more than just a handful of diehard Hive members will be calling for him to replace Wentz if the scenario described took place.

Sure, members of this thread and maybe some people on Twitter. But just the hardcore Heinicke fans in general is what I mean.

I think you're right in general about people wanting the backup when the starter is bad, but usually that's when you have a backup who's relatively unknown and/or is a younger guy who has what people see as potential or upside. Heinicke is neither of those. That's why I said I think it would be more likely that people would be calling for Howell to get the nod so we can see how he does.

You could be right about more wanting Howell to play, but that’ll be contingent on him having a really good 3rd preseason game and Heinicke having another bad game (if he plays). If he ends up looking worse than last week and TH looks better than last week….well, if Wentz vaulters prepare for “Heinicke!” chants, is all I’m saying lol…

Sure, there will always be folks that want the backup.  It’s almost a qualification to be a fan of this team.

Per usual though, those fans end up looking stupid because the backup usually stinks too, if not worse.

Bold part, absolutely true...whether or not they end up looking stupid usually plays no role in their decision making lol.

I think I'd still be right. Even if Wentz looked absolutely horrible, probably the only people calling for TH would be members of the Hive on here. Most others would be wondering if Howell was ready and whether it might be worth it to give him a shot.

    Two things:

    - You seem to be basing the above only on the members of this thread.

    - You seem to be basing your opinion on the skill sets of the QBs. I'm basing my opinion on the proven mentality of the fan base lol...

The game day threads are hilarious. If Wentz looks horrid in game 1 there will be 25 people calling for him to be benched in the 2nd half, guaranteed.

    Exactly lol 😂...exactly.

What's a bit wild is that there were reports of Dems actively trying to support the Trump-backed election deniers in their primaries thinking they'd be easier to defeat in the general election. Kinzinger was saying "Don't do it, because if they do end up winning the general election we're all ****ed" (or words to that effect lol). Now that a number of these wack jobs have actually won their primaries McConnell has been saying the Repubs most likely won't win back the Senate now becvause these candidates are trash and will motivate higher Dem voter turnout (love the feud that statement is causing between Mitch and Trump, btw lol).

Last time Mitch predicted dire results for the Repubs was when Trump refused to concede to Biden and kept harping on the "rigged election"...Mitch thought it was a better strategy to convince their base in Georgia they needed to get out and vote for Perdue and Loeffner in the special election to keep the Senate under republican control and stop the "radical Left" agenda from spreading like a disease over the country. So if he was right then, maybe he's right now as well...

Would rather she try to rally whatever she considers herself... NeoCon? Reagan Republican? Whatever isn't MAGA to just vote NOT for the MAGA candidate. Don't even mention the Dem. Ever.

Dems aren't gonna give a ****. And it's possible the number of Repubs she convinces to vote for the Dem candidate may offset and even eclipse the number of Dems who would rather take the chance a Republican Trump loon will win the election than a Democrat who Cheney sold her base on.

Any Dem accepting Support from Liz; probably will cost themselves votes.

Just because she got it right on one thing; doesn’t excuse or erase everything else she did or supports as a right wing republican.

I'm assuming she doesn't mean she'll appear at campaign rallies with Dems, but that she'll try to convince those Repubs that voted for her to vote for the Dem candidate instead of the Trump-backed loons that have an "R" next to their name.
