  1. Samsung TVs are great but do not buy their appliances!
We remodeled our kitchen about 8 years ago and put in matching set of Samsung stainless steel appliances. Have replaced the ice maker on the fridge 3 times now but have since given up and buy or make ice the old fashioned way. Dishwasher leaks and random error codes abound. Gas range needed all controls replaced after approx 3 years and now the gas valve is going out (I think) as if doesn’t seem to be able to maintain constant pressure. You can hear and see the flame fluctuating sometimes and oven can take an eternity to get to 400. Only thing that hasn’t given us any problems has been the microwave!

    Stay away from Samsung appliances!!!

  2. I’m curious about how Buffalo and regular nickel differ. Apologies for lowering the tone of the discussion somewhat but (as an immigrant to this country) what I learned about football over the years came primarily from playing madden.

Madden has Nickel formation in most playbooks and Big Nickel available in some. The principal difference seems to be where the 5th DB lines up. Weak side in Nickel and strong side in Big Nickel.

Is Madden’s Big Nickel equivalent to the Buffalo Nickel you guys are talking about?

Apke is still on the team?

    Well, not for long. :ols:

In all seriousness, though, Dantzler’s lack of specs ability may allow Apke a way “in”. But this isn’t a gosh darn “Welcome to the Commanders, Troy Apke!” Thread! :ols:

I seem to recall reading that they brought in Dantzler for a more veteran leadership role. Reading between the lines, it seems there’s no clear leader in the DB room. Fuller is most senior (followed by Curl) but seems to be a quiet guy and he’s potentially a short timer anyway. The others are all young and still finding their way.

They just significantly retooled their defensive back field but this is now a very young group. Dantzler may be needed to help teach these kids to be pros

I totally agree with you on BPA. That’s been a burning issue right through this draft - our strategy seems to have been very clearly about addressing need over BPA.

Like many in this thread I’m not a fan of that.

We are not surprised though, right?  Filling positions of “Need” has been Ron’s MO since he’s been in place. However, it can be argued that for a team this consistently mediocre, you could throw a dart at a list of positions and always hit an area of need.

    Not much has changed..

  5. Yeah OT or trade back would have been ideal at 16 but s*** happens so…  I was meh on the Forbes pick as well but it does make sense to me.

The correlation between turnovers and odds of winning games requires no explanation. Only 5 teams that failed to reach double digits in INT’s last year and guess who was one of them?

Rivera clearly saw Forbes and his ball-hawking skills as an impact player capable of immediately improving those numbers and consequently increasing odds of winning in our favor.

He is Father Jack from the Father Ted TV series. Here is his bio, and I think we all can aspire to living life so well:

Father Jack is a surly, rude, alcoholic, lecherous, senile, foul-mouthed and violent priest, who frequently lapses into aggressive behavior, especially when his fellow clergy deny him alcohol (which he refers to as "drink"). Jack makes no attempt to mask his contempt for his fellow clergy and pretty much anyone else he encounters. He rarely speaks in a coherent manner (possibly a result of his constant drunkenness) and often shouts out a series of random words: "Drink! Feck! Arse! Girls!" sometimes accompanied by convenient hearing difficulties making him shout "What!"

Dougel: “Ted, is it true Jack once had a trial for Liverpool?” (Reference to soccer tryout)

Ted:  “No Dougal. Jack was once on trial IN Liverpool!”..

    No further explanation necessary.

My family are huge fans of the lads from Craggy Island, so it’s always fun to see Jack’s ugly mug!

Mine has some basis in Sacred Geometry or Alchemy, I think. I don’t recall honestly..

They do make multi-head mini-splits so you can have a single outdoor unit running multiple indoor output units  Might be worth looking into that rather than two full mini-splits.

Also, relevant video from Technology Connections heat pumps:

Not immediately, but I'm thinking about installing one or two for my home. I have an idea what the unit cost, but not sure on the installation cost though. From what I've seen, correct me if I'm wrong, but it provides its own electric and doesn't have to be connected to a circuit breaker.

To those that have one or know about them, is it worth it?

Negative on both counts. It will require power and an independent circuit/& circuit breaker. No such thing as an ac unit that produces its own power.

    it doesn’t require ductwork however

The Mr Cool brand is not familiar to me and I was in the ac business for many years. After years of trial and error, we settled on Mitsubishi as the ONLY brand of mini splits we would install. Best overall quality, customer service and more importantly, access to repair parts. You’re going to need them eventually

That's fine, but there is a misconception that the position coaches work for the coordinator. They don't. They work for the head coach. So the idea that O'Connell didn't get to "pick his staff" is dumb because coordinators don't have their own staff. They work with other coaches under the big boss head coach.

I have no dog in this fight but there’s a vid out there of Logan Paulson, Craig Hoffman and John Keim talking about the possible OC candidates. In it, Keim and Paulson speculate on the possibility of the new OC wanting to bring staff along with him. Consensus is that Ron would not want to “rebuild” the current staff.
