    D.   Forbes feels like a wildcard, he speaks to their love of turnovers but he's not a physical player and they like physicality.  He cities how long for example and big the Colorado State UDFA is.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to Forbes trade value in terms of draft picks? A 4th sounds to rich if he’s going to struggle to make this roster

Robinson can play on all downs dammit and I'm here on that hill all day. OCs finally figured out to just let the scat backs run on 1st instead of get run over in PP on 3rd and long. Achane was born and the trend took the league by storm. But those guys get injured, predictably.

There is just something wrong about trotting your best player off the field because its 3rd and 5. A small victory for the D.

It’s a numbers game.. Can Robinson play all three downs? Probably.. Should he play all three downs consistently? No.

It’s a long season and we need him in the best shape possible come December. Not in traction!

I figured as much, but I'd like to hear of hires (many hires, actually) to our scouting dept.

It's been one of the smallest and least resourced in the league. To me, that's a huge need and I'm hoping AP prioritizes it. The silence is worrisome.

I mean, this was totally expected, right? Peters arrived too late in the year to make changes before the draft and so here we are post-draft and it’s game on. Call me crazy but if Peters thinks we can do better, then I’m gonna side with him!

But I am 100% confident that the product they put on the field will be competitive and our embarrassing days are behind us. I am patient. I just want effort and competitiveness.

    Hear, hear!

The sh** storm of the last 30 years isn’t going to be reversed overnight but the team is finally moving in the right direction and patience is key here.

PS: the Debbie Downers need a f*ckin slap upside the head! We’ve come so far in such a short time and we can see the light.

yeah, it wasn’t an all-pro career but the man has a superbowl ring. Isn’t that the ultimate measure of success in this game? Or is just one ring not worth the time?

  6. Peters in his recent presser said they wanted 4 QBs going into camp. Until today it was assumed they might use a late pick on a developmental QB but that would seem unlikely now. More picks for skill positions and fat boys!

I think that’s why JJ McCarthy has moved into the discussion. Maybe a perceived lower ceiling, but he’s a more rounded QB prospect right now. Even if that’s is at a slightly lower threshold. He starts day 1, no question IMO.

    Nonsense

McCarthy moving into the discussion is media (click) driven

McCarthy being a more rounded prospect is media and fan driven

McCarthy starts day 1 is no question is pure speculation

    God I miss proper bacon!

Bangers and mash is not a breakfast though, we will have that for dinner. One of my favs (not a fan of the onion gravy, I’d just rather have peas with it).

Agreed. Bangers & mash is lunch (maybe, if you  haven’t eaten recently) dinner definitely. Recommended w/ Guinness. Now, that’s a meal that sticks to the ribs!

I used to be able to destroy a full English breakfast but time and tide, etc.

Why do people assume that we are settling for Coaches? And not putting thought and planning into these hires. Ik the ptsd is real but we are in much better hands now with competent business people making sound football decisions.

You really want to die on this hill?

You should know by now that the folks posting here are pro football experts with impeccable credentials whose opinions are infallible!! Sheeesh… 😳

Breer with a very detailed inside look at the HC search.

Some people on here are not going to like this article! They will doubtless make efforts to discredit it as it doesn’t fit their narrative that the hiring of DQ amounts to table scraps once the best choices were gone. Sucks to be them

    Gibbs I didn’t, but he gets a pass because 3 Lombardi’s.

Sorry but that is incorrect.  I distinctly recall watching the ‘91 campaign and the announcers saying Gibbs would hand signal a sign of a Q for Ryp to “QUICK” tempo.

Funny the things that stick in the memory after all the years…

First of all I know baseball and football are completely different. When the Orioles hired Brandon Hyde he was not known as a good hire. He was known as patient and a developer of talent. We do not need the best coach in the world right now. We need to change the culture and develop all the young players Adam Peters adds to the organization. We need to change so many things of the previous toxic culture.

Agreed and I’ll add that posters need to be reminded that the Commanders management is undergoing a complete rebuild.  Brand new ownership. GM Peters has only been in the building for 2 weeks. 2 WEEKS!!  The ink on Peters contract is still wet!

Ownership said (warned) they would take time to assess options and not make hasty discussions. As such, any discussions regarding “vision alignment” must be considered in their infancy.  And so perhaps it’s not so surprising they are proceeding slowly and deliberately.

Hard for some to process in the age of instant gratification

My gut is we didn't miss out on Ben Johnson (with the power of hindsight) and Slowik doesn't appeal to me that much.

But I do think we missed out with MacDonald.  Will see.  😢

6 shoeboxes of receipts might make you an above average coordinator but it sure as heck doesn’t guarantee you a leader of men.  Silly take by Mr Soran..  As you say, we will see.

The whole thing on "insurrection" is being intentionally confused. So are the "complicated legal issues."  Trump and members of his team worked to overturn the election results so that he could remain President in time period from November 9 to January 6.

One of the most eye opening revelations from the Jan 6 Committee hearings was the “win or declare election fraud” plan taking root well before November.  If I remember correctly, plan-B to break the law if the election didn’t go their way was on the table April or May of 2020.
