I remember seeing this meme a few years ago - it so hits the spot!

That was awesome but wasn't nearly as dramatic as Riggo's SB run. 4th and 1 in a tight game and he makes a house call.

I really loved watching ST play, he would've been a hall of famer.

    Good pull.

Kinda defines the Snyder ownership era.  We only have some great moments to draw upon, but none that match up to iconic moments like the Riggo run versus Miami.

Some other great moments during the Snyder era:

    1. Santana Moss end of game heroics versus the Cowboys on Monday night football in 2005.

    2.  Santana Moss TD in OT versus the Jaguars to win the game 36-30.

    3. 2006 regular season game versus Cowboys when on the last play - FG attempt by Dallas is blocked and Sean Taylor scoops up the ball and returns getting a face mask penalty, which give us an untimed play for a GW FG.

    4.  Incredibly sad play versus Buffalo in 2007 after Sean Taylor passed away where the defense played a man down to honor Sean.

  3. I know folks are hoping that we’ll try to trade players before the trade deadline to get some value, but seriously - do we want Ron and the existing front office making these decisions?

No matter what - I can’t see Harris and Crew letting Ron making personnel decisions with any impact beyond the 2023 season.

If Harris lets Ron go fire sale route  - I am extremely concerned.  Any decisions impacting the team beyond this season MUST be left to the new GM/Head of Football Operations that will be hired.

Hopefully, “Team Harris” is already getting advice and insights about the existing roster and has started the process of identifying this potential new GM/Head of Football Operations.

I think the Eagles are going to smoke this team.

I know some here think enough with the O line stuff.  But the funny thing was Greg Cosell who does a podcast with Tucker did a summary of the division.  And Cosell more than most is high on some players on this roster.  But when he was asked about the Commanders threatening the Eagles, all he did was run through the names of the Eagles D line versus this O line.  That's it.  And said the Eagles have nothing to worry about.

As Sheehan has said - it’s a week to week league.   I don’t think it’s too productive forecasting out multiple weeks.  Lots of things will happen that can’t be predicted impacting future games.

I don’t think too many folks had the Commanders beating the undefeated Eagles last year…

I noticed on google maps that it does look like there is a barricade between green F and E lots now.  I an positive when I went like back in 2011 that wasn't there, and I don't really think I looked out for it last year but I don't recall seeing that.

Last season, I went to the opener and to Giants and Browns home games - there was no barrier between the E and F Green lots

But not so cool where I'd want Rivera running this FO.  We can do much better than Ron IMO for GM.

totally love Ron, and he was an intricate part of our transition from Snyder’s “reign of terror”.  However, the Harris Group needs the freedom to totally upgrade the football operations AND business operations.

Furthermore, I am convinced that even if he won this upcoming season’s Super Bowl - he’s planning to retire afterwards

  7. @Koolblue13 I remember giving you a ride from the Scudder Falls rest area in PA to a Skins home game in maybe 2007 and 2008.

Sorry about the loss of your Mother at such a young age, but happy that you escaped from New Hope to the Caribbean to a place where you are doing things that make you happy.  Now if only the Commanders can return the favor……

Ditto most of the Philly reporters who covered Harris, with the exception of two dudes.

Living up in NJ and formerly in the Philly TV market- I am very familiar with Howard Eskin.  I took his negativity towards Harris during his interview on Sheehan’s radio show a few weeks ago as a good sign

Harris knows his way around running teams.  He'd be far from the only owner with multiple franchises.

I doubt this team, the one he grew up rooting for gets short shrift.  Plus from what I heard Rales would be very involved in helping run things -- who is another dude who grew up rooting for the team and knows the past and what's happened here.  Passion for the product to me is a plus.  I know Dan was a fan but that's not why he sucked -- he sucked because he was a douche and incompetent and would interfere.  Harris doesn't interfere.  His reputation is get the best GM and coach and stay out of their way.

The inclusion of Mitch Rales put me over the top as a fan of Harris Group bid (Magic was a big bonus) over the other bidders including the potential of Bezos.

Rales history as a fan combined with his amazing business success in taking over distressed companies and rebuilding them is exactly what the Commanders need.  Added on top of those points - his focus on the community is so sorely needed as the Washington team will need to remove the “stink” of Dan.

Far be it for me to ask one of the the hardest working posters on the forum to do some extra work but if you get some free time could you research Rales especially his humanitarian and charitable efforts.

I found the few things I heard about him fascinating and I'd love to read some more.

    TIA

On Mitchell Rales, Howard Gutman who is one of the top legal minds in the DMV (and a Washington fan) has been a contributor to Sheehan’s show/podcast over the past few years.

Mr. Gutman is also both an advisor and a friend to Mitch Rales.  Based upon this connection (and even while limited by NDA) Howard has provided a decent amount of details about Mitch Rales and the Rales family on Sheehan’s show since it was announced that he was becoming part of the Harris Group bid.

Most recently, Gutman’s appearance on Al Galdi’s podcast this past week (#547) paints an extremely favorable view of Mr. Rales.  Anyone with any doubts about the significance of Mitch Rales being included as part of the Harris bid - needs to listen.

Based upon what I have heard from Gutman -  I am actually more excited about what the Harris Group can potentially do to “rebuild” the Commanders to relevancy than even Bezos.

You bring in Rales with his philanthropic background and Magic to shake hands and work the room and suddenly it’s a whole different negotiation.

Both Mitch Rales and Magic Johnson have the ability and connections to successfully engage the local governing authorities - as well potential financiers of a new stadium complex to get the deal done.

However, they will still need folks focused full time to handle the details.  Even though there has been a cluster of f*** ups - just maybe, Jason Wright can be the guy.  You can’t underestimate the impact of having serve the needs of incompetents like Dan and Tanya.

I listened to the Sportico guy who broke the story just now on 106.7, said 99.9% chance its a done deal, lawyers on both sides are basically poring over the agreement right now

One sad moment - in talking to my 28 year old son earlier today- this is his greatest moment as a Washington fan.

While I am extremely happy right now, I feel so badly for fans like my son who have never experienced moments like the Riggo run against the Dolphins, the 2Q against the Broncos, Gouviea INT against the Bills, etc. wtc.

Without Snyder messing up the works, I am hoping fans like my son will finally be able to have the experience of rooting for a football team that is relevant and always a threat to reach the Super Bowl.

Hilarious, their ticket reps pushing season tickets now

I am doing it.  Close enough for me.  I got no fear of Dan backing out.

I have had one sales rep calling me weekly.  I admire her tenacity and have been pretty honest with her.

However, even with all this positive news, I am still not ready for a full 10 game season package (even when I had season tickets - I never went to preseason games).  I am hoping that the team will create partial season package options like NFC East opponents only.

Depending dates - I am thinking of a road trip game against one of the following - Rams, Broncos or Falcons.  At FedEx probably the season home opener and one of the last home games.

the wildcard in all of this is Dan is stupid and at times enacts stupid strategies that he assumes will work because he thinks others are even more stupid than him --

This is the scary part!  For the very first time - Dan needs to do absolutely “the opposite” of his instincts.

After suffering 23+ years of his ineptitude, and bad decisions - Washington fans deserve “one magic loogie” of the correct decision by Dan.

It feels tailor made to what we need.  Feels like a no brainer to trade down, and I suspect we pull it off.

You can get your O lineman and CB in the first two rounds.

Hoepfully you pick up another 2nd-3rd round pick where you can double down on O line and maybe go edge.

I am blown away by this edge class even more so than CB.  It would be a crime IMO to not get one of these guys.

Center in the 3rd-4th round range is perfect.

And heck it appears they want to add a RB and safety and LB -- 4th-5th roundish.

If they trade down and can add 2-3 picks like last year, this draft looks like a perfect symphony for them to match BPA to need.

This regime has been hit and miss in FA but they've drafted pretty well so I am psyched for this draft.

This so looks like a great game plan.  If it falls this way, we’ll be a stronger team.

Many thanks to all the draftniks who share their insights - it makes this time of year so interesting to be a fan.

Not sure about the Skins component but he might have said that, just don't recall.  But yeah Sheehan was one who strongly opposed changing the name.  But outside of that I don't recall him being passionate about anything except not liking Red Wolves, saying he doesn't care overll about the branding, and now saying he wants a rebrand but without a specific name that he's pushing.

@Skinsinparadise Sheehan reiterated all of this again in his podcast today (April 7).
