My grade for Peters, after seeing the total body of the draft, is B- for a couple of big reasons: 1). we got none of the LT prospects that we desperately need, 2). Compared to Howie Roseman who traded up and back while getting multiple picks for next years draft, Peters largely sat still during the draft and played the board as it came to him. I didn't see a whole lot of creativity from him other than the deal with Roseman which allowed the Eagles to swoop in and take Dejean. That deal may end up really impacting Peters grade one way or another.
All that being said, as Bill Polian said today, you can't really grade a draft class for 4 years so we'll see how this all plays out.
I'd give Peters an "A" for free agency but thought he'd be more aggressive during the draft. Still, I'm extremely excited to see this team continue to add pieces before opening day.

The second round was odd. I feel that Peters was trying to fill voids in a depleted Rivera team and failed to find day 1 starters. I would have rather traded all 3 of those picks for a higher profile player. But hopefully I'm wrong.
When listening to Peters call to Newton he tells him that he "couldn't believe he was still on the board". This tells me that we had a grade on Newton that was much higher and just couldn't pass him up. After Daniels it feels like Peters took the bpa approach while considering most of our needs but obviously not all of them. So now is Allen or Payne a trade candidate for an offensive lineman or stud WR (Samuel or Aiyuk)?

This pick is where Peters needs to make a real steal on a shock the world type of player.

At this point I may roll the dice on Brendan Rice just because of how pissed off his dad probably is and how revengeful he's gonna have his son be against the rest of the league. Not to mention the bloodlines....

Apparently Hampton had 23 missed tackles last season. 😕
This stat is misleading, 19 of them were in one game where his pants fit too tight.

We’re gonna trade out IMO
Hope so

Our defensive huddle is gonna be night and day different than under JDR....look at the speed and personalities we've added. Forbes is gonna have to hold up his end while Allen and Payne are gonna be pushed to greatness. If we do add any more pieces in free agency it'll be even stronger. We have gotten seriously more physical and faster on defense and much more intense given our coaching and player additions.

Pairing Jordan Magee with Frankie Luvu seems like it could be very smart. Luvu will teach Magee as will Bobby Wagner. Peters is definitely working on making this defense an attaking one.

I want Brendan Rice or get some REAL speed in our backfield and select Bucky Irving
I believe Irving is now gone.

Pat Kirwan was on Sirius NFL radio this week talking about all of the still available free agents who will get phone calls immediately after the draft. I gotta believe we'll be involved in some of that and that's why some of these free agents haven't signed yet.

I think the disconnect between some of us here and Peters is that we're focusing on roster holes, and he's focused on finding impact players.
There's obviously more to it, but that looks like his draft philosophy. The theory being that impact players deliver those handful of game-changing plays, which the roster fillers won't. He'll just make do at the open positions.
It's scary to come out of the draft with continuing questions, but it makes sense.
To your point, it looks to me like every player he adds in free agency and now the draft has a purpose over a legit 2-3 year roster build.

Mathis will struggle to make the 53 IMO.
Gotta believe you're right when we're picking a DT in round 2 in a draft where we have several holes to fill. Doesn't bode well for Mathis.

The Adam Peters Project will trade Allen at the right time for value.
Good point, I agree with this. We also have Mathis for what he's worth.....???

If Jerry offered 56+73 for 40, I'd strongly consider it if he was that enamored with Brooks (even though I like Brooks too). Getting a relatively early 3rd is an attractive piece.
I think I would have to do that deal unless there's a LT at 40 available that we can plug n play.....

They are the luckiest ****ing organization I've ever seen
Don't sweat it, they lost something like 6 of their last 7 and are a reeling organization. Last year they picked the entire Georgia defense and sucked worse.

Our history goes back farther than the bad word. I love your hope for him, I just don't see it. He is not Burrow
How do you know? He might be better than Burrow. What's Burrow done in the league? I know he's been hurt multiple times....and has had some success but you have no idea if he'll be better or worse than Burrow.

Yeah, cause he is injured most of his college career 🙄
Take that negative jinxing bull**** to another fanbase.....
YES.....Daniels is the next Randall Cunningham, the S.I dubbed "Ultimate Weapon" back in the day. All QB's get injured, he just has to play smart and the coaches need to enforce that with him.

Maye. For those of you that keep saying Daniels, we have no o line, you add to that a running rail thin QB and you have a recipe for disaster, if not, an injury waiting to happen to your qb of the future who will stagger team chemistry, development, and any chance for this team to rise above mediocrity. If we draft Daniel’s, we’ve seen this movie before. Besides, rgiii, look no further than Bmore, where the org goes as far as LJera takes them. If he goes down, their team goes down. We need studs across the board and not a one man team.
We have and will continue to upgrade the O-line....this is not Ron's show anymore. Comparing Daniels to RGlll is as unfair. That's no shot at Maye either, whomever we take will have an improved O-line situation for sure.

The draft must be so exciting for teams that have figured out the QB position. You can do whatever you want, everything is on the table at all times.
Agreed. And it's gonna be very fun for us this year up to and after we pick a QB at #2. We have so many needs we can go best available in many cases. I'm also anxious to see how many times Peters trades up or back to get the guy he wants.

Really Really like the fact that they are solid at staying put. To me it means they are locked in and sold on their guy. They are confident with the pick. I think that player is Daniels and Im as excited as ever! If it turns out to be Maye I'll also be all in. Either way Im glad that they seem to be set at who they want.
What if it's JJ?????
