Under those circumstances it is possible, I just believe the likelihood is extremely low.

Of all the first round picks over the last, let's say 30 years how many have been cut before the start of their second season?

I say that not as a rhetorical question but as a real question because I don't know the answer but I would imagine the number is exceptionally low.

I agree with your points BUT, how many 1st round picks over the years have been as slight of build combined with as bad on the field as Forbes was?

IF just two of these rookie corners step up and look better than Emmanuel Ford throughout camp he COULD be in some trouble. I imagine he'll get every chance to succeed though and I'm confident he'll make a big jump in year 2 under better coaching/scheme. But some of these rookies sound promising too...

Can't imagine that... Eckeler, just two seasons ago, was one of the top backs in the league... had a bad stint last year with LAC.

Agreed, it's well documented that Ekeler played hurt for most of last season. Given full health this season, at only 28 years old, he could be one of the biggest steals of the off-season across the league. He and BRob are gonna be a nice 1-2 punch if the O-line improves.

  3. On a whim I compared Luke McCaffery's height and weight to Cooper Kupp's......did you know, they both have the exact same measurements? 6'2, 194 lbs. Luke ran a faster 40 combine time, 4.46 to 4.62.

So, by these numbers, McCaffery should turn out to be a slightly better pro than Cooper Kupp.

    Time is yours.

Well they are playing @ Dallas at 4:25 before that Thursday game while we play home against Pittsburgh.  They'll have less time to prepare, plus. are coming back from a 3 hour plane ride.

Good point, and hopefully Dallas beats them up some although Pittsburgh is gonna be tough for us too. They get after it.

They declined Davis 5th yr option. That probably speaks to what they think of him. I feel bad for him. He was overdrafted which put higher expectations on him then they didn't really have a plan for him. A fresh start may truly do him some good either here or somewhere else. As you say he was starting to at least geta feel fro the NFL game towards the end of last year. If he continues they may decide to pay him afterall. This pretty much a one yr prove it deal at this point.

I think Dotson could be a stud. He never seemed to mesh with EB's offense. And with the oline being so bad, esepcailly as the season went on he just didn;t get many chances. I expect him to return to his rookie year form and better.

Dotson is one of the top 3 guys on this roster that NEEDS to be a stud starting this season. He's a 1st round pick that needs to demand more of himself and hit at least 80 catches for over 1100 yards and 8 TD's. Dotson needs to push Terry for the #1 WR role given that he's a 1st ****ing round pick.

Interesting. Martavis has generally been more of a headache than a talent, but he’s a long, tall deep threat who can stretch the field. Arguably what we need.

Hasn’t recorded a catch in almost six years. 32 years old. I’m tempted to think this is a favor for an agent that will pay off in some other way.

Teams workout scrubs all the time, the names only ever make the media when they’re recognizable like Martavis. Same happened when someone gave Jamarcus Russell a workout after his career ended. These things don’t usually lead to anything and sometimes there’s a dozen guys at a time working out, with just the “big names” known.

Eagles have ex-Bengal, former 1st round pick, WR John Ross in their camp trying to make a comeback.

I bet you we open up with an opponent like Carolina or possibly on the road against the Cardinals for Week 1.  Maybe the NFL does us a solid like last year, and gives us an opponent with a non existent traveling fan base if we’re at home.  I remember Kevin Sheehan last year correctly predicting that the Cards would be our Week 1 home opponent for that very reason.

If we’re on the road, it might make sense for us to play ARZ, since that gets our only trip out west next year out of the way early.  Either way, I predict we’ll be buried in a time slot where our game won’t matter at 1PM, or is the 4:25PM undercard for the Dallas @ Cleveland game.

I want the NYG week one.....in NY. Perfect place to break in our new defense and run first offense.

He was so consistent for us towards the end of last season. I can understand how he's not a lock as a starter (which would be totally understandable) but I'd be surprised if he didn't make the roster. He's a great return man, if nothing else.

That and he'll be great for our new culture including the veteran leadership he'll provide for JD and the rookie WR's. Love Crowder.

My guess for WR room this year is: McLaurin, Dotson, Crowder, Zaccheaus, McCaffrey, Rosemy-Jacksaint

Russell Gage is available, he's a guy I'd take over Olamide all day long. LSU boy too....still only 28 and has had some success in the league. Wonder if he's damaged goods?

You have to get insanely lucky to win with a backup.   Eagles with Foles, last year Browns with Flacco, a million years ago 49ers with Young. There are others but it’s very sporadic.

You mistakenly left out TH who went 12-13-1 in Washington. I got you covered.

Well that’s pretty dang cool.  Where can I find the info on this?

As soon as i get the details I'll let everyone know.....this is all coming straight from Tress Way from what I read.

  12. I picked up a Tress Way jersey on Fanatics for $30 at the end of this past season and now I find out that Fanatics will send me a free new Tress, signed, jersey if I send in a picture of the one I recently purchased. All on Jayden Daniels dime? This is gonna be a great year!

I see Ertz as a 1 and done mentor. He hasn't been productive in years, more of a catch and fall jag for quite a while. He blocked Goedert and Trey for years for no real good reason. I get signing him, we had nothing at the position, and he's a good mentor. But Ertz is a roster clogger for the purposes of Sinnott's career beyond '24. I'm hoping he can just mentor him well for a year, and that's a wrap. The past two years he's ranked in the 20s and 30s in most efficiency ratings (though I will say target separation and cushion #'s aren't as bad as I would've expected). I imagine the 1 year deal underlines this. He comes in, mentors him, that's a wrap. Still, surprised that he does still have some metrics where he's in that 10th-15th area, not bad for a mid thirty year old, especially the metrics that they are.

Kingsbury must love him some Ertz....he was the first FA signed this offseason.

I am not a Wylie guy.  But I have some hope that he will be better in an offense that doesn't pass the ball 100 times a game.

This, and hope that Daniels legs and overall game will make Wylie and the entire line better when they do have to pass. Seems likely.

What could have been early struggles for an undersized rookie were exacerbated by an incompetent staff.

This is the hope of all of us, the staff/scheme was so bad that they totally mismanaged him. Listening to St. Juste it's clear the guys were often confused and playing on their heels instead of doing what their eyes told them to do and playing freely. That clearly won't be the case with this new regime. We really need Forbes to be good, hopefully his head is in a good place and ready to put last year behind him while stepping up this season.

  16. Dallas and Philly both just lost their starting centers this off-season....The strength of our defense is gonna be the interior defensive line and it just got massively better with this pick. I want the Boys in week 1 so they have to deal with our new triplets right out of the gate. I don't know when we're gonna be able to run to the restroom this season given the excitement there will be on both sides of the ball?

#1 vs #2 as the early MNF game opening weekend seems like a thing which could happen….

    I’d be down with that.

Would probably be a good game too.

Imagine if Daniels beats Caleb Williams...what a boost that would be for the franchise.
