They interview you extra and will just pull random people off the train when you're disembarking at the terminal in France.

I heard about Mobile Passport, has anyone tried it

There were no lines at customs last night at 11 pm

A friend of mine has it. You have to do a ****load of international travel to justify it imho

i said it earlier in the thread, look into clear. >tsa precheck and if you are creative you can probably expense it

last time I was there I went through security plus extra inspection, then stopped at another checkpoint and interviewed, and interviewed again at the gate. This was all for one leg from Amsterdam to US.

I went thru the first metal detector ever made in Croatia. Landed in Munich and had to answer 3 security questions. That was it.

Also, there are certain industries that should be socialized. Transportation is one of them. The free markets suck a wet fart out of my ass when it comes to transportation.

I challenge any ron Paul douchebag disciple to fly United from Albuquerque to Dulles. Then fly any European airlines from any European airport to any European airport. It is the difference between shooting a bullet and throwing one. It is amazing, in Europe passengers are treated like actual human beings. Amazing concept. Their airports aren’t ****heaps either. Imagine that.

free markets suck suck for a lot of things. Anyone throwing out the term “free market solutions” to societal problems is a goddamned dumb****.

Oh, and hope everyone one has a nice weekend.

  3. Seriously WTF are they printing?  Go to any departure gate in any airport and there is a dot matrix printer running wide open spitting out paper into a pile that, near as I can tell, is summarily ignored by everyone. I think I saw one person just throw it away once.

This has been this way since the 1980s. Wtf is going on, are the airlines trying to keep the dot matrix market alive?

look for it next time you fly. I’m not exaggerating

It’s sad that prominent journalists are seldom safe, specifically in areas like the Middle East and Russia, Eastern Europe, etc.

Its a tough job that they don’t get enough credit fore and usually don’t get the pay they deserve.

    I don’t think they’re motivated by money

it is a calling and we will always have these people. No doubt we should be thankful

Burden of proof does exist.  It's just not beyond reasonable doubt unless you're a criminal defendant.

We should demand more from our accusers

namely, date, time, location might be good. Nobody is asking for a reasonable doubt. I think just reasonable.

Now we are whining about how women accusers will never be believed??  Anyone been paying attention these last 13 months?

Lying under oath about material matters. Kavanaugh on that basis is guilty of multiple counts of perjury. Whether it is about his drinking history, his drinking age, his "drinking" games, his never knowingly handing over sensitive papers to screw over Democrats, etc. etc. etc.

Oh I see then, he’s a confirmed liar

funny people are talking about kids in this thread. My kids will grow up in an America where the burden of proof exists for all accusers. For that I am grateful

I mean, as impressive as twitter trials are

Will their be a second civil war?  I’ve never seen citizen’s hatred for one another even close to this point in my lifetime.

No their won’t be a second civil war. But I do hope their is a concerted effort among out public schools to teach the difference between their and there. While their at it they can teach a little history too, because apparently that’s lacking as well. Their seems to be a belief that we are in uniquely partisan times, as if Vietnam never happened. So their!

This was a good call. I arrived at BWI at 630 expecting empty lines for a 730 flight only to find a mile long line at security.

Quickly signed up for clear, got my fingerprint/iris scans done and quickly went through the security check.

Also my United flight to SF didn’t suck today. What a difference it makes when your seat mate is average sized.

Still I signed up for an Alaskan Air card this weekend.

i have a coworker who actually went on a trip and forgot his wallet.  S o be careful it can lull you into complacency ☺

One of those times it's great to be 5'5" and average build. I'm usually reasonably comfortable on flights.

    Height is a handicap period

cant find shoes that fit. Can’t drive a normal car. Certainly can’t drive a sports car. Trying to find tall sizes. Can’t fit on an airplane, train, bus, etc.

that is the definition of “market inefficiencies”. The Colts are extremely underrated. I would take them in a heartbeat. I saw where si had them at #28 in their power rankings. Talk about no respect, they almost beat Philly and lost to Cincy in a fluke play

This is why I don’t bet

  11. Also, let’s talk airports.

There is is no hub worse than Charlotte. Endless walking, mobs of people spilling out into the thruways and most of all, no good restaurants whatsoever

i think the last place in the world I would want to be in an emergency would be the Charlotte airport. What an unprepared ****hole

This isn't a discussion about how obese or large people need to lose weight. That is not going to happen overnight.

100% we need to adopt the Canadian model. You either start making seats that are big enough to accommodate people comfortably or you offer larger people a second seat for free on your tiny ****ty planes.

I've flown on Canadian airlines and even their cheaper airlines like Porter are significantly better than the crap we pay for.

I really think a lot of it comes back to all of these travel websites.

Travel is 100 percent sold on price. Got a vacation coming up?  Go on all the travel sites and choose the cheapest flight.

Airlines know this. We have incentified the airlines to provide the cheapest up front price possible. What this means

Excessive baggage fees. This is a back end charge. Doesn’t show up in the up front price. Which leads to everyone carrying on, making the confined space even more miserable. Not to mention the mob at the end of the jetway that we all must navigate thru.

Tiny seats. More seats, lower up front fares. The consumer has made it clear that more legroom is not worth $50 per ticket.

No more freebies of any kind. Airlines trying to sell you on everything from the moment you book. Credit cards, box lunches, exit row seats, etc

again the market is broken. This is like a remedial case study on why libertarians are ****ing idiots.

  13. Surprised to see the dolphins as 7 point dogs. I guess everyone is thinking like me that the dolphins are the most overrated team in football and that there is no way that Brady and Bellicheck fall to 1-3

that said, 7 points?  It’s not that I think the dolphins are that great, it’s just that the patriots look good xceedingly average this year. I might take the dolphins if I gambled :)

I’m also very attracted to the that Saints line.

I love the Rams tonight but 7.5 just seems a bit too high.

One more thing cause @Bang likes trends...the Houston Texans are 2-14 at Indy and have never defeated Andrew Luck there.  They are currently 0-3 and a 1.5 point underdog.  Easy money?

Wow that is the definition of “market inefficiencies”. The Colts are extremely underrated. I would take them in a heartbeat. I saw where si had them at #28 in their power rankings. Talk about no respect, they almost beat Philly and lost to Cincy in a fluke play

My cousin’s husband works for Bill Nelson on the Senate committee which oversees the airlines. He frequently has the chance to speak to airline CEOs on these issues.

The amount of ****ing airline CEOs do is unreal. They won’t budge an inch and want Congress to do something about the gulf carriers that are eating the lunch of American carriers overseas. There isn’t any compromise, so I wish all you schlubs stuck in economy good luck.

(Due to am absurd amount of flying back and forth to Cali in ‘16 for work travel I now have a head start in getting Delta status and I am lucky enough to get bumped up. I abhor domestic economy)

Carriers are printing money.  Its disgusting, the moment they hit a rough patch the government will bail them out again
