  1. Absolutely. All the talk was he was the most pro ready, the most mature, most ready to contribute right away in the draft. And he hasn't done ****. Like seriously, he's got future D Leaguer numbers.

I did'nt like Beal that high he has a passive game and is basically a jump shooter that does'nt shoot a good percentage except his last 10 game stretch he was fools gold like the Wizards winning streak. The only hope is JWall gets him easy shots. With TRob I said that 1 year of producing coming in his junior year was a huge red flag for me. That guy I don't think he even averaged 15mpg until his junior year if he was a stud he woulda forced his way into PT regardless of the Morris twins.

I still would have taken Barnes if I could'nt trade back.

  2. Because no one wants to see him wrestle for 5 rounds (at least I don't).

I agree but he's not gonna take any risk. Its all about game planning to win anymore and its smart. Some guys use there speed to hit and run all fight while others dry hump you the whole fight.

Its why I love guys like BJ Penn and Nick Diaz because they want to fight period but its not the smart approach.

  3. Granted it only 10 games, but Mayo is looking like an All Star right now.

And yes, Gay is why they fell out with Mayo. Mayo and Gay both need the ball in the same spots on the court. Even though they play different positions, they are very similar players. Its like an inferior version of Bron and Wade for a few years, with the big difference being that Gay and Mayo were never friends

In fact, I feel things fell out of favor for Mayo after Tony Allen beat his ass over a tonk game.

And Mayo can defend, he isnt a great defender but he can defend. Beal hasnt shown me he can granted we are only 10 games into the season.

And Mayo can create offense for himself, which Beal just cant do.

Ive said it consistently, but this Brad Beal hype I never got. He did nothing to separate himself from others last year, but some how had this bandwagon with him over the last 18 months.

I said it at draft time Beal was overrated. He can't create for himself or teammates on a regular basis. He supposed shooting is suspect as well but everyone ignores stats to look at his 10 game hotstreak. I dont think he is even over 35%fg this season. His high rebounding numbers was because he played alot of Sf.

  4. I don't know if he could take Johny Hendricks down at will.

Yeah he will that college background don't matter. Look at all the top wrestlers he has tooled. When you train with olympic wrestlers who say you could medal says alot. When a few years ago Rashad says he can't stop GSP's shot says alot. That shot is explosive, quick and very powerful.

Atleast Diaz and Anderson can be a threat from there back. Honestly I think Diaz would really give him fits off his back he is constantly looking for subs.

  5. I must have been the only one going nuts when GSP got kicked in the head. I was hoping NBK would finish him off, but got to give GSP props for fighting his was through and recovering. That being said, I still hate the take-down-and-pound game plan but hey....its effective for him.

I agree that Anderson would lay GSP out, his boxing is way better than Condits. Carlos looked apprehensive throwing those combos, and he doesn't have the head movement like Silva to slip and counter when he's exchanging punches. GSP's only chance would be his routine game plan, take the fight to the ground.

Out of the 3 possible opponents for GSP, it doesn't look he'll want to stand with any of them really.

Why would he stand with them when he can take all 3 down at will.

  6. I would rather see how these players look first. This is supposedly a bad draft, but you never know.

if we trade for vets, they better be good players. Not garbage. like the last time.

Yeah i'm not talking about garbage. I'm talking about useing the pick or pick+ players for a legit younger all star type of of talent. This team even when Wall is back needs that guy to be able to do his thing and create at the end of the game like a healthy Gilbert did.

  7. Randy Foye + Mike Miller part 2

God help us if Ernie is the one making that deal.

Hopefully Teddy cleans house. There is nobody is this draft other than Shabazz that I care for and he's not gonna play this year. This team needs to start winning some games and show Wall a future.

Honestly for all this building thru youth the only thing we have is Wall and a bunch of guys. Beal i'm not crazy about but hopefully he can pan out into a 15-18ppg #2-#3 option on a very good team.

  8. I did'nt like the Beal pick from jumpstreet but I thought Lamb was by far the most dynamic 2 guard in the draft. He will never be a alpha anything best case is he is a good #2 or #3 option on a contender.

This organization has just sucked the life out of me. I can remember Jeff Malone,Bernard King, Mugsy, Manute i've been watching this team since I was very young. I just can't get excited or up for them anymore I used to never miss a game nowadays I could care less if I miss one.

This team will pick top 5 once again to watch Grunfeld piss it away. Just like taking Jan over Leonard 2 years ago just foolish I said it then, i'll say it now.

I said we shoulda traded for Harden useing the pick but a bunch said he would'nt succeed with teams keying on him. Lets just say he would be far and away the best player this team has and give us a legit end game option.

  9. I think GSP has had too long a layoff and will get dropped by Condit. Carlos hits real hard.

No chance, he is going to his back faster then Tito's wife.

I'm also down to sig bet the Anderson vs GSP fight if it happens if GSP is 100%. I think GSP wins easily a 5 round decision with top control much like Sonnen/Silva 1. GSP's wrestling is about the best you will find in MMA. He has outwrestled the wrestlers with the pedigrees. Rashad Evans said nobody in Jackson gym could handle him he is ridiculously strong. Chael might outweigh him by a few pounds but Chael is'nt a better wrestler and he's damn sure not stronger. Gsp has about the most powerful shot in MMA just nasty power and explosion. I hate the way he fights because he does'nt take chances to finish fights but this is the perfect style fight for him.

I like Andersons chances againest Bones alot more then GSP. Bones is stupid and confident enough to bang with him. GSP won't mess around on the feet at all. Bones if he fought to win could top control Anderson for 5 rounds easily as well.

  10. If that were the case, he would've done it already. Every time he's been asked about the fight, he beats around the bush. He and his manager said it would take a while to put on the weight, and he is not way stronger than Anderson or Sonnen for that matter.

The fight won't happen, GSP doesn't want it, can't say I blame him.

Father time will be the man who defeats Anderson. I suspect that if he keeps fighting, he'll probably lose via KO or TKO to somebody we don't expect. Similar to Roy Jones, Anderson's game is predicated on timing, there will come a time when Anderson's body doesn't react as fast as his mind wants him to, and he will suffer a defeat because of it.

GSP is probably one of, if not the strongest in MMA. Listening to Rashad talk about GSP rag dolling everyone in there gym does'nt surprise me at all. I've spent the majority of my life in the gym guys like GSP are freaks. Have you seen the quads on him thats why his takedowns and base are so powerful. No chance Chael or Anderson are anywhere in the ballpark of the type of weight GSP moves. GSP is by far the most dominant wrestler in the UFC but he don't get the credit because he did'nt wrestle in college or the olympics.

  11. My question is why was Lavigne reffing this fight? He wouldn't shut up the entire time Sonnen was working in Anderson's half guard. I mean, MMA was born from jiu jitsu, and nowadays it seems like that part of the game is being severely rushed by certain refs. Lavigne being one of them. Some refs are so sensitive to the crowd, that when they hear a few people booing, they loudly yell, "WORK!" Interpretation: "Please don't boo the fight I'm refereeing!"

Please put Rosenthal in every championship fight. Watch...friggin' Winslow will be zombie-reffing Faber vs. Barao.

The knee looked illegal when I was watching live, but now that I see the replay, Anderson falls in to Chael as he lands it - making the knee dive down at the end of the strike. The point of Anderson's knee hit's Chael's nerple. It's such a slick technique because 99% of the time you expect some punches to be coming, but a knee slips under and knocks the wind out of you. It was a lot like Rashad vs. Tito 2.

Anderson looks like he could certainly get to 20 wins in a row looking ahead. These days he's saying that he wants to fight for a long time, so what are matchups in the future? Bisping (TKO) Stann (TKO) Rashad (TKO) Lombard (yeah, TKO). I can even see him fighting Sonnen again, even though Chael needs 4 or 5 wins to even be considered. Well, maybe 3 if you're in the UFC marketing machine.

    Anderson/Sonnen 3 @ UFC 200 baby. :puke:

I'd actually like to see Shogun introduce himself to treadmills and fight Anderson, but even so, at this point, you've got to assume Anderson wins that one easily. A couple years ago that was the #1 fight I wanted to see.

The only person I think beats Anderson is a healthy GSP. I know alot of you wanna say he is to small its BS he is way stronger then Anderson or any of the other fighters anywhere near his weight class. GSP is a world class freak athlete in the gym that can put on weight without any issue. You have to be a explosive wrestler with great control to beat Anderson. GSP is a way better version then guys like Sonnen and Lutter who have mounted Anderson. GSP is much more explosive, stronger, technical with good G&P and submission defense.

Nobody is beating Anderson unless he is put on his back and held.

  12. Williams has no position

    they basically drafted SuperCoolBeas 2.0

I am still perplexed by the hype Williams got last year like we hadnt already seen that story

And the NFL analogy is off, Gaines Adams (RIP) was traded after his 2nd year. There are other examples, but he is the first one that came to my mind.

I said it last year did'nt care for Williams much at all classic tweener. Yes he can be a stretch 4 but will never be a legit star player for a team because he is undersized and won't rebound at the 4.

  13. I'm still undecided. It's so easy to pick Anderson, until I remember the entirety of the last fight. Chael may have fought a great fight, but that wrestling is always going to be incredibly difficult to fend off. If he doesn't get Vitor'd, I can see him hitting cruise control again.

However, considering Chael's history, it's probably easiest to see a Silva submission.

I'm torn. In the last fight not only did Chael dominate with takedowns but he won the exchanges on the feet as well. His striking was very good in that fight even stumbled Anderson at one point.

I think being pissed off is good and bad for Anderson. He won't sit back and be patient he is going for the killshot early and often but that aggressivness can get him put on his back. I can see this fight going either way.

My prediction Chael wins the belt

  14. Okafor if healthy is starting on this team and playing 30mpg. I don't think some of you realize how good he is when healthy. He is our best defending big, best rebounding big can hit a mid range shot and knows how to play the spacing game.

I love Seraphins ability and possible upside if you go back thru this thread when everyone was bashing him I was the one to defend him. But he is'nt anywhere near Okafors all around game at this point. Seraphin and Booker will battle for scraps unless there is a injury.
