My bad… sorry for mess up the time wasn’t on there so I assumed it was SNF… my bad I’m sorry … I was to quick to post lol 😝

Team better than us or Giants to open Sunday night.

Buffalo, Miami, Jacksonville, Houston, Indianapolis, Tampa, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, LA Rams

Of the teams with losing records that could be on SNF, LA Chargers- due to Harbaugh or Chicago- due to Caleb Williams.

Giants - Commanders don’t have same appeal.

I forgot about Tampa.  That's a game that would be buried at the 1PM slot or as the 2nd backup to the Dallas-Cleveland 4:25PM game.  Tampa Week 1 is interesting, but I hope it's a 4PM start, early September Tampa weather is brutal with the heat and humidity.

Arizona & Washington are two irrelevant teams at the moment.  The NFL would be doing us a solid by starting us off with an opponent that we have a pretty good chance to beat week 1.  I could also see the NFL doing us a favor by having us open up at home against Carolina.  The Falcons & Panthers games might be the only games on the home docket that will have a majority of Washington fans, so it would make sense to schedule us an opponent with a small travelling fan base like Carolina (just like they did with ARZ Week 1 last year).

I predicted Atlanta and Carolina as our first 2 games.

The nfl aren’t doing a game like that to open SNF.

I wouldn't be shocked if we play the Cowboys in the opener in one of the primetime slots. Daniels is generating a lot of national interest.

Nope. As already reported Cowboys @ Browns-4:25 pm game in Week 1, Tom Brady’s debut as broadcaster.

I was once in Oklahoma, where a dead person got 92% of the vote, in the general.

It was one of those districts that's vored Dem for 100 years, and the real election is the Dem primary.  (I'm certain that now days, it's just as loyal, but votes R.)

The Dem nominee died.  But by law, it was too late to replace him with another Dem.  They could remove him, but not replace him.

And, if they elected the dead person, then the Dem governor gets to appoint a replacement.

The R nominee (who knew when he ran that he didn't have a chance) got 8% of the vote, running against a dead man.

Dead people win all the time.

Claire Makaskill - however you spell name late husband died before election but he won and she got his seat.

So… Newton is essentially a guy they drafted for next year, then?

I mean I kinda get it given the talent level and where we got him. But it shines the light on several OL prospects that were in the same ballpark talent wise not being the selection.

Definitely takes some balls to do.

He is the eventual replacement for either Allen or Payne.

If you’re talking about balls, we can’t compare to Atlanta. Giving Kirk 180 million and 100 million gauranteed and then drafting Pennix at #8 in round 1.

Trump insiders say Nikki Haley being considered for VP — if she pays his legal fees

Donald Trump’s campaign is considering offering the role of vice president to his most long-standing campaign rival, Axios reported Saturday.

Nikki Haley is under “active consideration” for the position, according to unnamed insiders in the former president’s camp.

Axios said Trump’s decision hinges on whether Trump believes Haley — whom he called "Birdbrain" throughout the fight to become the GOP's presidential nominee — can help him avoid a prison sentence and cover millions of dollars in debt racked up by legal bills if he loses the election.

Haley has deep ties to donors who are not supportive of Trump, the report states. By linking up with her, he would also hope to win over the many Republicans who continue to support her.

Click on the link for the full story

Nikki is dumb enough to do it. She would permanently kill her future if she did that.

  7. The next item on HOG’s agenda is the stadium. Securing the location of the stadium and then securing funding for that stadium are the next items on the agenda.   Once you see ground broken for that stadium, then you will see attention paid to rebranding, if it happens.  Since the stadium will include the brand, that’s when they will have to decide whether to keeps things as they are or change.

So, those hoping for a change, will have to wait.  The stadium is most important thing to do now.

But if they announce it early enough i think we can sell out redskins fans vs cowboys

This team Is a ways from having a majority of our fans in the stadium.

If the team is winning when we retire “28”; it will be mostly Skins fans.  If we are struggling with a losing record; then it will be the usual, mostly other teams fans.

Florida HOA president pulls gun on 3 kids fishing at lake before throwing tackle into woods: court docs

A Palm Bay, Florida Homeowners Association board member was arrested last month after allegedly pulling a gun on three kids fishing at a lake in his subdivision, taking their equipment and throwing the rods, reels and tackle into the woods, according to court documents.

Police charged 57-year-old Kyle Patrick Tate with criminal mischief and grand theft as a result of the incident.

A court affidavit filed in Brevard County, Florida alleges that on April 14, officers with the Palm Bay Police Department were dispatched to a suspicious incident at Stillwater Lakes, a subdivision owned and managed by an HOA.

FOX 35 in Orlando confirmed Tate is the president of the community’s HOA.

HOA’s are a pain in the ass.

We got a nasty gram from the HOA telling us to mow lawn a couple of weeks after moving in, here in Palm Bay. The builders told us to wait a month before cutting the new lawn.

  10. The nfl

I have a feeling that Goodell will eventually start charging for access to the NFL schedule, at say, $19.99 a pop. Anyone who republishes the schedule for other who haven't paid for it will get hauled into court, or at the very least banned from all NFL activities going forward.

    Think I'm crazy? Everyone said:

    1.   Goodell would NEVER add a 17th game to the schedule because it would unbalance everything and make an 18th game a fait accompli.
    2.   Goodell would NEVER add an NFL game on Christmas Day, since that day "belongs" to the NBA.
    3.   Goodell would NEVER add an NFL game on Black Friday.
    4.   Goodell would NEVER make NFL teams play on TWO short weeks during the season (which is happening this year).
    5.   Goodell would NEVER add a SECOND NFL game on Christmas Day because (see #1)
    6.   Goodell would NEVER have the NFL season start on Labor Day weekend, since that weekend "belongs" to the NCAA (OK, this hasn't happened yet, but with the 18th game coming...)
    7.   Goodell would NEVER lock the NFL players out of the stadiums if they complained about adding the 18th game (which he did back in 2011).
    8.   Goodell would NEVER have an NFL game happen on a Tuesday or Wednesday (which is rumored to be happening this year too).

Mark Cuban was right...pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered.

Goodell is the owners puppet and everything he does is complying with owners wishes.

You do remember that the nfl use to start the season on Labor Day.

The right to expand to 18 games was in the last contract but the nfl

never did it but it wasn’t included in the current contract.

  11. All you can do is take is wait and see approach. The more players that become eventual starters the better and it will make it easier in future drafts.

If Jayden ends up the only player that works out, that’s devastating. Even worse if Jayden busts.

I still expect the core of team to be acquired thru the draft. By the time we hopefully are contenders around 2026; drafted players from this regime or holdovers from past, will make up most of the core.

Haley received over 20% in the Indiana primary yesterday. Hopefully those are people who will never vote for Donny in Nov. Probably doesn't matter in Indiana. But get a percentage like that in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada. That's a big deal.

Uh, if you are dependent on that to happen; you will lose.

I wouldn’t depend on a goper to vote for Joe. Their hive mind will have most of them voting Trump anyway.

The best you can hope from those Haley voters the either skip voting for president or don’t vote at all.

So glad to not be a laughingstock anymore.

The Patriots hired Mayo without a real hiring process—he was Kraft’s choice all along. Joke of an owner dragged along by Brady and Belichick, spends this entire offseason smearing Belichick just to hire another “Patriot’s Way” sycophant (but one who will kiss his ass) with no real competition for the job.

Drafts a franchise QB with Mayo and Eliot Wolf (not given the GM title) making the decisions.

After the draft, with a coaching staff and a rookie franchise QB already chosen…now Kraft is holding interviews for a GM.

    What?

When Mayo got a contract extension as an assistant, it was written into his contract that he would be promoted to head coach when BB retired.  Since he was a minority, the nfl allowed this and the Pats didn’t have to interview anyone else. If he was white, it wouldn’t have been allowed.

  14. 2021 was brutal draft for qbs. 5 taken in the first round but only Trevor Lawrence is still with their team and starting.

2022 only had one first rounder- Kenny Pickett and he's already gone from Pittsburgh.

2023 had 3 first rounders. Anthony Richardson got injured, so unknown about him. Bryant Young had a brutual first year. CJ Stroud looks to be a star.

This year had 6 qbs taken in the first round. 6 of the first 12 picks were qbs.

    How will these QBs do?

Caleb Williams- Could be battling our own Jayden Daniels for rookie of the year.  Bears are surrounding him with talent. Big question is coaching. I have this feeling Caleb will have a different head coach before he can really take off.

Jayden Daniels- The concern with him, can his small frame handle the hits of the nfl. If he can, I think we will have our 10 year qb.  Of course, we have get him the offensive line.

Drake Maye- Will Mayo be better than Bill has been post Tom?  They can't do what they did to Mac Jones.  They need to surround him with talent or he will bust.  They can sit him a year since they got Jacoby.

Michael Pennix- Considering he will be sitting on the bench for at least 2 years, don't know how his career turns out.  If Kirk plays poorly, he may get his chance sooner than later. I think the Falcons ride with Kirk for 24,25 and if they haven't achieved anything move on from him in 26.

JJ Mccarthy- He probably would do well to sit a year. Let them ride with Darnold for this year. Given how tough this division now is, he's more likely to bust than succeed.

Bo Nix- He's in a division with Mahomes and Herbert. Going to be tough.  I think he busts and gets Payton fired at some point.

Odds are strong that most of those 6 qbs bust. I prayer Jadyen isn't one of those busts. It would be nice if most of them succeeded though.

There will always be teams looking for qbs; so future draft picks will get drafted to be the savior.  I think the veteran free agent qb market won't be so hot anymore.

  15.

If the NFL expands, I can see a realignment to 6 teams with 6 divisions again and 36 teams.

Though frankly, 32 teams is the right number.  Just move the weaker franchises to other markets.

As for international expansion, not going to happen.  You aren't going to get players who will have to spend about half the year living in a foreign country.

Since the NFL will eventually expand to 18 games, that will give everyone 9 homes games and 9 road games.   You can take that 9th game and make it international. Every team will have to play one international game.  England and Germany would get the bulk of the games but you can sprinkle other countries in there like they do now.  Have those international  games from Week 3 to Week 17; so the first 2 weeks and last 2 weeks of season are USA only.  You can create a TV package of international games only.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of 18 games, it's happening. The owners want it and they will eventually get it.  What will they have to do to get players to agree?  Roster expansion, a second bye week seems likely.  I think the players would use leverage to get free agency shaved by a year and maybe the draft reduced by a round or two. Players would rather be free to sign, then being forced to go somewhere.

18 week season with 2 byes, over 20 weeks. Season from Labor Day to President's Day.  You'd have one bye in the first 9 weeks and the second bye in the last 9 weeks.

The current tv contract runs into the early 30's but the nfl has an out clause in 2029.  I'd expect an 18 game season, sooner than later..

  16. Ron built nothing.  The most strongest players on the roster were from before he got here. The remaining players on the roster from his era will have to prove it this year , assuming they get out of camp, in order to be part of Quinn's core for the future. If they don't, they won't be on the roster in 2025.

Any attempt to draw anything meaningful from one game is a useless exercise.

There should be plenty of excitement for the future no matter the outcome of one game. Also, the bears are STACKED on offense.

What would be really exciting is if the Commanders/Daniels own the Bears the way the Chiefs/Mahomes have owned Josh Allen/the Bills for an extended period of time.  But we’re miles away from that.

Actually what would be exciting is if we get Brady-Manning rivalry with Williams and Daniels.
