This is a different point than your previous post I responded to. They can hit on the pick and not experience a season like Stroud/the Texans had last year. That’s unrealistic as a base expectation—even though we all hope for it. You’re either moving the goalposts intentionally or don’t have a solid handle on what exactly you’re arguing, idk which. Feels like you’re just looking to end up dissatisfied which is an interesting (and comfortable) defense mechanism for fans who have suffered for so long watching this team. In many ways, failure is home. It’s familiar. It seems like you’re fishing for ways to be prepared for this regime’s failure before it can even get off the ground.

2 completely different divisions. I think the poster you are replying to, has way to high expectations for Year 1.

Houston was in a division that had the horrible Titans, the Jags who collapsed after a great start and the Colts who were fighting with the Texans for a spot but with mostly their backup qb. So, conditions were favorable.

We will be facing a Philly team that has made improvements to correct last year’s problems, a weaker Dallas team that should still compete for a wild card and then the Giants. An outcome like Houston while possible, doesn’t seem likely.  You figure we struggle early on but as the team starts to jell and rookie qb gets more comfortable, the team gets better as season goes along. If we can make the playoffs great but our season wouldn’t be a failure if we miss the playoffs or finish with the expected 6 to 8 wins.  If we end up like Carolina last year, then you can say the season was a failure.

If we go Daniels and he busts while Maye flourishes, Peters evaluation skills can no longer be given the benefit of the doubt. I don’t believe the opposite is true either.

Since it’s 50-50 either could bust; I wouldn’t hold that AP. He’s making the best choice he thinks. If he misses, he’ll get one more crack at it.

I’m not expecting CJ Stroud. Hell, I’m not expecting year two of CJ Stroud to match year one. He had an absurd year in terms of limiting turnovers and mistakes.

I am expecting a QB that looks the part. Sam Howell did for about half a season and then fell apart. How good i expect them to play largely depends on if they’re playing behind a good offensive line, or the wet toilet paper we have currently.

Houston will have a first place schedule. I doubt they repeat the success they had last year. Wouldn’t surprise me, if this miss the playoffs this year.

Question: Trump took over the RNC, but who had the authority to give it to him? Do they also have the authority to take it away? How would they ever get Trump out of the RNC now?

Only his death will the gop be free of Don. Even if Trump loses, he will still control the gop.

We just need a fixed ratio of population per congressional district. Each district get an electoral vote. That’s the way it was originally structured.  Then we stopped adding districts because the capital!building is to small.

We know getting rid of the EC isn’t happening so this reform that Nebraska and Maine already does would at least be an attempt at reforming.

The 2 EVs representing senators will still be based on who wins the state overall. That’s 100 total EVs. Then you have 435 EVs representing congressman. If you award those by who wins the district like Maine and Nebraska, that alters things.

I don’t see it happening though as Dems will not want give up all those California and New York EVs and Republicans give up all those Texas and Florida EVs.

If it happened, it would change things. Where you campaign. Not sure who it will benefit. You have to go through several elections.

Note: DC also gets 3 EVs but we know that is solid Dem.

Congress should increase the size of congress, at least a little. DC deserves actual representation in congress. You can add congressional seats in other areas to even out how many citizens a congressional district represents.

People act like large population states like California and New York don't have very very large rural populations.

How many of them aren't voting at the national level because their votes don't mean anything?

Can't speak for NY, but California is basically 3 or 4 states alone with how the populations views differ.

Break up California and Texas and New York. Heck, you coukd probably do the same with Florida.

Harris’s mantra is no short cute.

I can’t imagine AP not being in agreement.

    Yeah, no shorts cutes.😀

We want to be a team that consistently contends and when the inevitable downturn occurs, it’s not deep or long lasting.

Just look at the free agency era since 1993 and see which teams have been consistent winners.  Some of it does involve a little luck, ie Green Bay having 2 franchise qbs and possibly could have a third one with Love.

We got competent people running the show now and they will make the best decision they feel.

I prefer the rookie qb to start as soon as he’s ready. The only way to get experience is by playing but I don’t want the qb playing if he isn’t ready yet or we don’t have the line yet to protect him. I can live with Mariotta starting the season and then give way to the rookie qb; unless that rookie qb wows like Russell Wilson did in his rookie year.

  7. Right now the minority is imposing their views on the majority.

The way the government is set up, gives the minority the power to block what a majority wants.

As for the EC, nothing will happen to it.  Unless some of the southern states turn solid blue; doubt the gop does anything.

The popular vote seems to be an attempt to rectify things but the flaw seems to be ignoring the will of the voters of that state. If that state is giving its electoral votes to whoever wins the popular vote, then it could be ignoring the will of the voters of that state.  The popular vote winner is candidate X but the voters of that state voted for candidate Y.  I think this solution just creates another problem.

They should try the Nebraska/ Maine approach.  Allocate the EVs for each congressional district to whoever wins that district. So, you can have EVs in deep red or blue states going to the other party. Then EVs that represent the Senate, can go to whoever wins the state overall.  It’s a fairer way of using the EC system. I don’t know who this benefits but it will mean more areas will be in play.

This folding in into one operation, is to give Trump full access. The rnc only exists to serve Trump and all money raised, is to go to Trump.

There is 0 chance the Giants get any of the big 3 QBs. Neither us or the Pats will trade. They MIGHT take McCarthy which would be LUL, although I actually think McCarthy on the Vikings would be a really good fit(and its probably what will end up happening).

Giants might take Nix in the 2nd, but I'd try to eff them by trading down from 36 to a team that could want him if we stay at 36 and there is anyone left that would want him that high.

There might not be a good qb left for Giants to take. Both Denver and Las Vegas are also looking at qbs.

4 QBs will be gone by time Giants draft at 6.

Unless the Pats trade down, don’t see the Giants getting one of the better qbs.

While drafting Pennix or Nix might be to high where Broncos or Raiders draft; they could trade back into first round or trade down their first round pick to take qb later.

How dumb was Cooke by not owning the land he built his stadium on.
