The Redskins introduced the bylaw change and used two words as the reason why: garish uniforms. But Allen said the league might not vote on the measure in Phoenix this week, instead waiting until meetings in May. There have been no new offers in a month, one source said. But Allen pointed to options the team has to keep Cousins around for 2018 as well – the franchise tag at $34.5 million or the transition tag at $28 million. Allen said he would not trade Cousins just to get something in return. If he leaves via free agency after 2018, then the Redskins would only receive a third-round compensatory pick.
