Awesome
Just curious, anyone know how Matthews was injured last year? Did the injury keep him out of all those games, or was he benched in favor of Miller?
Skins57
I am not 100 percent sure but I believe Shane was injured and Miller took over and played well so he was never taken back out until Miller got hurt. I do not remember the injury. Like I said I am not sure but I think this is what happened
bulldog
let's put it this way, Shane COULD have been the Bears starting qb last year, but that was as much a reflection of the lack of competition as it was his own performances. Miller's stats last year were pedestrian. 13 td's/10 int's. Let's face it, the Bears made hay on the ground and with defense last season. that is one of the reasons the team went out and signed Chris Chandler. Jim Miller is a good backup quarterback. I expect Chandler to win the job in camp and be the regular season starter for Chicago. We will have to see if Shane's comments about this system making all the difference for him bears fruit once the competition starts. Danny Wuerffel never came close to challenging Matthews or Miller last year with the Bears, thus I find it difficult to imagine that he is going to win the job this time around. Matthews has more experience, a stronger arm and better mobility.
indyskinsfan
When Wuerffel saw Matthews arrive, he went to get more padding, because, instead of Craig, he became the brand new tackling dummy for the second and third stringers in camp.
