88Comrade2000
Well, Indiana University finally has the balls to fire Bobby Knight. He should be fired at a press conference in about an hour. Bye bye Bobby.
Guest RogerB
To tell the truth, I am not going to miss him. His teams have not been as good in the past decade and his behavior has only gotten worse. In his own mind, he was bigger than the kids, the school, even the sport. He was a time bomb waiting to explode. Dean Smith and Coach K at Duke proved you can have a consistent winner and teach the fundamentals without having to choke and threaten people. Guest Trevor
I disagree with the common opinion on Knight. He does have a violent, quick temper, but when you look at what he has done in his time at Indiana(A phenomenal graduation rate, players with good GPA's, championships and NBA players), it should be more than enough to excuse his mistakes. I mean, why are his current recruits and players all backing him up, if he's such a terrible guy? His players love and respect him after they leave Indiana, which can only be said of a few coaches. The media has blown what Knight has done wrong out of porportion and now the guy that has given everything to IU, has to leave, because he attempted to show some punk about respect and manners. It's a complete disgrace, IMHO. I hope he lands another coaching job, steals his assistants and players from Indiana, then beats the Hooisers on their own court. ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.extremeskins.com/images/trevorsig.jpg" border=0>
88Comrade2000
Bobby Knight is nothing more than a thug. Was it a setup, probably. Thing is, he should know that every single person will try to egg him on but he couldn't just walk away could he. What do you think would happen at opposing Arenas or the media at press conferences? No, Bobby got what he deserved. He was so delusional in his interview on ESPN. Bobby preaches discipline but he sure can't discipline himself.
