Grant is suffering from what commonly is referred to as "jumper's knee," or patella tendinitis, which is an inflammation of the patella tendon. The Saints also waived rookie free agent guard Augie Hoffmann and claimed linebacker Billy Strother off waivers from the Washington Redskins. The active roster currently stands at 65 with six exempt players, putting the total roster number at 71 players. bulldog Posted September 1, 2004 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Strother was a guy that was given an outside chance of making the roster after being signed as a UDFA, but he showed little in camp evidently.
