But this one was interesting: "He had been playing under a three year, $3.6 million contract. The Army reportedly paid him about $19,000 plus benefits." That statement is absolutely extraordinary! We pay people MILLIONS to throw, catch, dribble, kick, pass a ball. But we can't even come up with $20 grand to pay someone to risk their life, leave their loved ones behind, forego other opportunities to defend our rights and freedoms here at home. Sad priorities.
