jimster
Tampa Bay Running Back Sentenced to Jail Apr 23, 6:39 PM (ET) Email this Story By MEL REISNER MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Tampa Bay running back Michael Pittman was sentenced to 30 days in jail Friday for putting the lives of his wife, son and a baby sitter at risk. The sentence included three years of supervised probation and a fine and surcharge totaling $4,500. Pittman must begin serving his sentence on Monday. If he fails to comply with the terms of his probation, he could be forced to serve another 60 days in jail. Pittman, who also played for the Arizona Cardinals, pleaded guilty March 25 to one count of endangerment. In exchange, Maricopa County prosecutors dropped charges of aggravated assault and aggravated domestic violence - the latter filed because of a previous domestic-violence conviction in July 2001. Under the plea agreement, Pittman could have been sentenced to up to one year in jail. He was indicted last June on two counts of aggravated assault for intentionally crashing his sport-utility vehicle into his wife's car in May. His 2-year-old son and baby sitter Kristina Hegland were in the vehicle. No one was injured. Pittman spent four seasons with Arizona before signing with the Buccaneers as a free agent in 2002. I wonder if the NFL's going to suspend him too.
redman
He should go to jail. He'll also probably be suspended. He deserves both.
Cskin
Yeah... they'll suspend him for at least four games. Conduct detrimental to the league. He deserves a life long ban for crashing his Hummer into her car...repeatedly... with his child strapped in the back seat. What a waste of flesh. freakofthesouth
He should also go to the Ravens, w/ the rest of the league's criminals.

SKINtil8tin
The suspension from the NFL is inevitable but what kinds of repercussions will the Bucs give him? Their past history with knuckleheads on their team tells me that he'll get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. What a disgrace.
skinamatic
Maybe he can share a cell with Jamal Lewis. Also a word of advice for him, he should invest in soap on a rope.
