TC4
http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm POSTED 10:30 a.m. EDT, April 15, 2004 TEAMS COOLING ON GALLERY? A week ago, there were rumors that Iowa offensive tackle Robert Gallery could be the first player taken in the April 24 draft. Not long thereafter, there were published reports of the Redskins trying to trade up to No. 2 for a crack at Gallery. We're now hearing that teams in the top end of the draft could be cooling on the one-time can't-miss prospect, due to his arm length. Or, more accurately, a lack thereof. Measured from his shoulder blade to the tip of his middle finger, Gallery's arms are only 32-1/4 inches long each. In contrast, the arms of Arkansas tackle Shawn Andrews are 33-5/8 inches long -- and Andrews, who stands 6'4", is a full three inches shorter than Gallery, who is 6'7". So either Andrews is built like a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal or Gallery is an overgrown Oompah-Loompah. At the tackle position, the cave man body type is preferred, since those long arms can redirect the Dwight Freeneys and Julius Pepperses of the NFL world, who try to skirt around the corner to the quarterback. We're also hearing from a very good source that the rumor of the Redskins desire to trade Chris Samuels and the No. 5 overall pick to the Raiders, so that the 'Skins could bag Gallery with the No. 2 overall pick was concocted by the Gallery camp. With all that said, we still don't see Gallery falling beyond the fourth overall spot in the draft. Giants coach Tom Coughlin selected mainstay Tony Boselli with his first pick in the 1995 draft -- which also was Coughlin's first pick as he attempted to build the franchise. In Coughlin's first draft with the Giants, our guess is that he'll grab a guy who could be a fixture at the left tackle position for the next decade, regardless of whether his face is painted orange and/or he's singing verses regarding the evils of watching too much television and/or stuffing one's face with chocolate. Cskin
Samuels has long arms... a distinct advantage. I still think Gallery sits their at #5 when the G-men take Big Ben. In that scenario, we're going down to #7 and picking up a 1st day pick and choosing whatever player (KW2/Taylor) Detroit doesn't take.
GrapeApe
I hope this is true because it's the one scenario I hate.
Commander Adama
PFT sucks. They are the Enquirer of the Football world. Once in awhile they hit on something, but even when you're taking blind stabs at something, you're bound to hit it one day.

If we trade down to #7 with the Browns, THEY will take Sean Taylor
