I loked on our roster and apparently we have two guys wearing that number. Both are benchwarmers but, the rookie icon is easier to get than the benchwarmer icon, and these guys are nobodies! what's up? anyway, i hate to b!tch since this site is so great and you guys do a great job, but let's get some fancy new icons. A lot of these remind me too much of the norv era. The rank-order is as follows: Waterboy Rookie Benchwarmer Future Starter Veteran Pro Bowler Hall of Famer Heavy Hitter Other rank icons are given to the staff: Coach = forum moderators = Art, BOW, Om Owner/Squire = Die Hard & Blade = dudes who've paid the bills Silent Partner = dude(s) who assist with board maintanence Icons reserved for flamers: Bestowed as earned... It takes less than 90 posts to get to "future starter" but quite alot more to get beyond that. Makes it easy for me to delay making more and more icons... although bulldog, navydave, and indy are all pushing the limits now damnit With the start of Camp, I wanted to refresh the look of some of the icons. Gone is Larry Centers and in his place is S. Alexander. Gone is Skip Hicks as the Benchwarmer and in his place is the mystery "00" player. Sorry you dont like this one, but there has been at least one effective player to wear '00' in the NFL (Ken Burroughs(sp.)), Houston Oilers). So, you never know what 'benchwarmer' may become a 'future starter' or 'veteran'. Gone is Arrington in his Penn State garb, and in his place is Gardner in his Clemson attire. I thought it might be a nice tradition to have the Skins highest draft pick each year be the "rookie". Husak was created at the specific request of one of the board regulars (props to Bufford). So, it became one of the new ranks. This can/will be changed as his status changes. There is an unlimimted number of ranks that can be created, and more upper level icons will come with the age of the board and the progression of the posters here. The only limitations are on my time to dedicate to the image manipulation. Also, if there are any specific players or ideas that any of you want added to the rankings, send me your idea and several (at least 3 or 4) pics of the player, and I can usually create something useful. I was saying that i saw the 00 for a little while, but now all i see is 20, and arrington is still the rookie. Blade Posted July 29, 2001 Share Posted July 29, 2001 Maybe I didn't make this clear. I need at least 3 or 4 DIFFERENT images of the SAME player in order to make an icon. Because of the demands placed on an image by the manipulation software, I am very particular in the image quality I use. Plus, often times I have to 'create' an image of a player out of multiple body parts from these images just to get something that looks good in 90x90 pixel format. I can't promise anyone that I will use your ideas, but I will do my best to make everyone happy, and keep the board an interesting place to look at.
