We Finally Power Run on 3 &1 - Game Thread

This drive was a thing of beauty. Nice mix of run and pass. Safe routes. Fake reverse to set up the big play with the fullback. Very nice call to Rasby on 3rd and goal form the 7. THAT'S where you need your TEs. Stephen Alexander? Who's he?

Alot of smash mouth off tackle and traps with Davis, balanced out by some genuinely deceptive play fakes to set up the first TD. We could be looking at about 6-2 right now if we had played to our strengths from day 1, but I'm just happy we've finally compelled the "immovable force" to adjust to our personnel's strengths. After that drive we should have some WRs open in the next possessions as we went exclusively with Davis and the TE/RB receiver combos.

Great start Rasby TD 7-0 Skins.

If we get another possession, Davis might have 100 yards in the first half alone.

It is utterly AMAZING to consider how many games it took us to properly utilize this fantastic asset this year, both as a producer, and as the foil who sets up the passing game.

All of the ails that plagued us when we were getting killed in time of possession battles; were failing to convert even the shortest of 3rd downs; were garnering less than 60-80 yards total offense a half; going weeks without TDs... were attributable to the across the board misuse of our personnel. Davis, and his 12 carries per game early in the year, was a posterboy for this misuse. And to think people were calling to cut Davis because of coaching foibles, when he was always clearly the key to the offensive engine. Now start using him to generate play action looks to Westy/Rod and we'll really be cruising.

Way to go SD 81yds and a TD in the half to date.
