redskins4471 Posted August 13, 2013 Share Posted August 13, 2013 This is news to me. I never knew that some players facemask had to be approved by a medical note. Over the past 20 yrs, the helmet and facemask designs have really changed and gone hi-tech. I was always a defense fan. And when you seen a linebacker or defensive ends facemask, it was intimadating. Over the years, the facemask has gotten more detailed, with more bars. Some facemasks look good , and there are some that just has too many. But over all, i never knew that some facemasks are not allowed by the NFL? I always thought that if a teams equipment room had various styles of facemasks, it was up to that player to choose what he prefers to use.
