21MadFan
Thought you guys would like this. Found this interesting Draft tracking tool that grades each teams interest in a player only by how many times he is mentioned in the media. If you click on the Redskins logo it shows what players have been associated with Redskins and gives them a grade. The explanation of how the site works is below http://www.fourthandshort.org This is not your usual Draft tracking tool, there are no expert opinions/panels; everything you see is based on popular opinion. That's right it's all about listening to the masses. We are tracking all of the prospects in the 2012 Combine / Draft across multiple media. Every time a prospect is mentioned in context with an NFL team a relationship is created. These relationships are the foundation of this tool and is used for all of the outputs, especially so for the Mock Draft. The Mock Draft takes all the NFL teams and the prospects most talked about and then orders them from most to least. Then in true Draft fashion each team picks based on their list, if the prospect has already been picked the next best option is selected. Additionally we are doing some sentiment analysis on every comment to generate a media reception indicator.
sideshow24
It never ceases to amaze me how many players confuse their player profile pictures with mugshots.
Califan007 The Constipated
Pretty cool... This part, though, seems to maybe be an issue: Every time a prospect is mentioned in context with an NFL team a relationship is created. These relationships are the foundation of this tool and is used for all of the outputs, especially so for the Mock Draft. I saw that the 3rd team most associated with Luck was the Broncos. I assume that's because there were a ton of articles talking about Manning being signed there, and Luck was mentioned in those articles as to why Peyton Manning was now with Denver. So that wouldn't be a sign of Denver being interested in Luck.
