indyskinsfan
Well I didn't leave notice that I would be missing on the 4th of August (Carlisle) but, my apologies for the skip. I will remind anyone the 1st prize is worth $100.00 2nd $25.00 Here are the questions: 1. Who was the first Washington Redskin player to rush for 1,000 yards? 10 points 2. What Redskin player holds the NFL record for most carries in a game? 10 points 3. Can you name the three highest scoring teams in NFL History? 10 points 4. What NFL team holds the record for most fumble recoveries in the playoffs? 10 points 5. Who is Doak Walker? 10 points What position did he play? 5 points 6. What individual has led the NFL in scoring the most to this date? 15 points I tripled the number of questions to handle gaps that would have occured. As always, the Trivia rules are in the "Bleachers" and the most points win. The Trivia game will be shortened to August 18, and the winner will be announced on that date. Coordination of the prizes will be conducted through Administrative members of the board for privacy reasons. They will have to submit their address so prizes can be shipped to them. Good Luck [ by indyskinsfan on August 11, 2001.]

TennesseeCarl
1. Cliff Battles 2. Byner? 3. No. 1 is the Skins 72-40 something win over the Giants. Skins kicked a FG as time expired - tells you something about the rivalry back then. 4. I'll say the Skins 'cause this is a Skins board. 5. Doak Walker U of Texas running back 6. Paul Hornung of the Packers?
Zen-like Todd
1 - Larry Brown 2 - Riggins 3 - 99 Rams/98 Vikings/ 83 Skins 4 - Dunno, guessing skins 5 - Hmm... A running back for someone. 6 - Not sure if this is career points, or most seasons as the leading scorer. I'm going to guess career points, and I'm going to say Morten Andersen. Montilar
1)Larry Brown, then Mike Thomas, then Riggons, the ND rookie - I've washed his name out of my memory - he came out with Bettis from ND and was a third rounder), then Byner, Allen, Davis. Let's hope davis is the first to go three straight seasons........... 2)Riggons used too, I want to say Byner does now 3)highest scoring teams for an entire year 00/01 Rams, 83/84 Skins 88/89 vikes now for a highest scoring team in a single game like TC did: #2 was the skins 70 - 41 win over the giants #1 was the 73 - 0 pasting of chicago over the skins and sammy baugh's famous quote when asked if scoring when they had an opportunity early in the game (when it was still a game) would of made a difference - "yea, then it'd be 73-7." 4)no clue but a guess Chicago's super bowl team? 5)Doak Walker - a famous name and I'm an idiot - I want to say running back. 6) I want to say Anderson of the new Orleans saints and various points since. but it's probably blanda. Anderson's fame is being the most accurate ever.
bulldog
hopping on a plane and don't have time for all the questions but let me help you guys out enough to say that Jamie Morris in 1988 broke the Skins record for most carries in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. I believe he had 44 or 45 rushes in that contest. I also believe that Cliff Battles topped out at 900+ yards in the Skins title year. Larry Brown ran for 1,216 yards and lead the NFL in 1972 and was the first Skins overall to top that 1,000 yard mark. Doak Walker won the Heisman and later played with the Eagles as a back. indyskinsfan
I'll say TIME!!! Ok first one: Brave gets 10 points for Larry Brown Second one: Bulldog clocks in while in the air with Jamie Morris Third one: Brave again with Minnesota, Washington and St. Louis Fourth one: This is under review as my answers are too cloudy, the Ravens have the NFL Season record with 26 Fifth one: Tennessee Carl got both sets of points because he at least identified the player's alumni, besides his position: This is a hard one, which with more specification may have given the player away, many of you had the position, but TC got there first. Here's his bio, it's huge! Doak Walker, a former Heismann Trophy winner in 1948, out of the University of Texas, played for the Detroit Lions, winning two scoring titles as a RB (main position), WR, KR, PR, defensive player, kicker and punter! The one man wrecking crew was a Five Time Pro Bowler Sixth one: Don Hutson STILL holds the record for most seasons leading the league in scoring with 5, However my lack of technics on this one left our the whether it was consecutive or most ever. I will award this should Morten Anderson be correct and if it so, then the first to answer will be given the points. Ok, I am bit messy on this one, I'll admit. As I try to put this here on a timely manner, the increase in my work hours has slowed my mental state, but I press on until this game is complete on August 18th, you will not be disappointed I hope I will put the current leaders here in a second. indyskinsfan
Sorry guy and you were on track for a cleanup too! Wow. there were some wrong answers, but it looks like you would have cleaned house. I think I will be a little easier on specifics..league scoring I meant consecutive, I will now see who had Anderson first. After further review, Morten Anderson is "incorrect" and the name Don Hustson remains. Here are the current leaders: ****TOTALS BOARD******* Points 6/30 TennesseeCarl 30 7/7 Runs With Scissors 20 7/14 GURU 30 7/21 (No Winner) 7/28 Trevor 25 8/4 -***** 8/11 Brave 20, Bulldog 10, TC 15 [ by indyskinsfan on August 11, 2001.]
