jbooma
For those of you in the DC area. The big NFL Kickoff starts today. It is going on till 8 on the Mall. A cool place to take your kids if you have any. There are also going to be a lot of events as well and I believe HOF's there. Among its highlights, the festival offers clinics on football skills and another, led by the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, on cheerleading skills. Former NFL players, including some Hall of Fame players, will sign autographs. The free festival takes place between Seventh and 14th Streets on the Mall. There are entry points on 12th and 14th streets between Madison and Jefferson drives. Football clinics are 3 to 6 p.m. Monday and 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; cheerleading clinics are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Autograph Signing Schedule: Monday Noon-1 p.m. -- Bobby Mitchell 1-2 p.m. -- Willie Lanier 4-5 p.m. -- Gary Clark 5-6 p.m. -- Earnest Byner Tuesday Noon-1 p.m. -- Charles Mann 1-2 p.m. -- Charley Taylor 3-4 p.m. -- Deacon Jones 4-5 p.m. -- Kevin Greene Wednesday Noon-1 p.m. -- Marcus Allen 1-2 p.m. -- Joe Theismann 3-4 p.m. -- Eric Dickerson 4-5 p.m. -- Sterling Sharpe The three-day event leads up to a free concert -- on the Mall on Sept. 4 -- that features Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Aerosmith and Good Charlotte. The first regular season NFL game, when the Washington Redskins play the New York Jets at FedEx Field, follows the concert.
