Philadelphia police confiscated a 9 mm handgun from former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison on Wednesday and plan to run tests to see if it is the same gun used in a 2008 shooting that left three people injured.

Police stopped Harrison’s Cadillac Escalade around 5 p.m. Wednesday evening for driving the wrong way down a one way street.

The patrolman then observed the former Pro Bowl wide receiver placing what appeared to be a weapon in the seat console according to Shaun Assael of ESPN The Magazine.

Harrison denied having a weapon in the car despite producing a permit to carry it. The officer then had probable cause to search the car, at which point he found the weapon.

Because Harrison was previously labeled as a “person of interest” in the 2008 shooting, police seized the weapon and will test it against three shell casings found in a truck driven by Dwight Dixon.
