Might not be the best game to tout Shanahan on since not only did his team lose, he got outduelled by Norv's offense.

Also it's a bit offensive to me that the NFLN describes this game as a "changing of the guard".

The 49ers were a top shelf team (advancing to at least the NFC Championship/elite records 12-4 or better) for a decade and a half. The Cowboys "dynasty" lasted all of 4 seasons (5 if you want to give them their surprising rise in 1991). They were not serious title contenders, even with Aikman, Dumb as Rocks and Irvin after the 1995 season.

The Packers took over for a short while starting in 96, then the Rams and we've been in sort of a "dynasty drought" in the NFC since the early 2000's.

They had a great but SHORT run on top of the NFL. To compare them to the 49ers is crazy.
