I saw a young QB coming into his own, throwing to super tall WRs drafted in mid rounds by a shrewd front office. These tall receivers were constantly going deep, competing and winning a majority of the jump-balls thrown to them. I saw a three headed running back monster and a change of pace back drive a defense crazy. I saw a play action pass on a 4th and 2. Unfortunately, it wasn't a dream, it was the San Diego/ Baltimore game. Phillip Rivers is just a monster now, and he's been in the league for 4 seconds. On the other side, Flacco still impresses and he's a second year guy. Rivers' WRs, Malcolm Floyd and Vincent Jackson, absolutely dwarf any CBs lined up in front of them. They're young and hungry and improving dramatically. Rice, McGahee and McClain run at will and have appeared to embrace the sharing of the ball. LT is on the bad side of 30, and Sproles, perhaps the best definition of a "change of pace back" is killing Baltimore as a RB and a KR. And of course, both teams have attacking defenses and solid offensive lines. Funny, this game is between the much maligned former skins coach and our "cross town"/ "local" rivals (I know they're not but work with me here).
