Redskins Diehard
At least three times a day, Kendall Hayes and Chip Lozinak talked to each other. Sometimes, the conversation touched on each other’s families. Sometimes, it was nothing more than a quick check on how the other person was doing. More often than not, though, the purpose of the call was usually about basketball, an understandable bond given that the two first met through the sport and stayed connected with it during a relationship with Potomac High School’s boys basketball program that began in the 1980s. The official job descriptions listed Kendall as the basketball coach and Chip as the scorekeeper, but their time together with that team went beyond that. Chip was a confidant and a counselor to Kendall. He was even a coach, running the Panthers’ summer-league team. http://www.insidenova.com/isn/sports/local/article/remembering_a_special_friend/31801/ --------------------------------------- Chip was a special guy and helped out countless area youths while working with the Potomac basketball team. Condolences to his family and friends. Great loss for the community.
