redman
I have no idea how accurate this is, but here's an image that gives a relatively clear image of our approach and the defense of Baghdad, from Yahoo!: Warplanes hammered elite Republican Guards defending Baghdad on March 25, 2003 as U.S. armored columns, slowed by blinding sandstorms, closed in for the decisive battle for the Iraqi capital. In southern Iraq (news - web sites), U.S. Marines finally punched past Iraqi resistance to cross the Euphrates river at Nassiriya. But they met a fresh ambush on the road north, despite an air strike that killed at least 30 Iraqis apparently heading into battle. redskin56
So this "Red Line" is suppossedly where Saddam will unleash the chemical or biological WMD?
redman
As it has been reported yes. In other words, Saddam has apparently ordered, or at least authorized, the use of WMD's if and when coalition forces cross some fictional line as they approach Baghdad. We don't know precisely where that line is of course so that part of the diagram is simply estimated/fictitious.
codeorama
Is there any significance that Bagdad is not directly in the center of the imaginary line? Or was that an imaginary mistake?
