FANSINCE66
The Spurrier hiring wasn't all bad for me. We got to see the Redskin show every week here in Orlando when he became head coach which I had not seen since I left NOVA when I was 12.
SonnyJ
i just dont think his system works in the NFL. It absolutely does. His system is basically what the Colts run - QB reads the defense and calls a play to beat that defense. Spurrier just didn't have Peyton Manning to execute it. I disagree. Spurriers system didn't even have audible blocking schemes for the OL to adjust too. He also installed 0 hot routes into his offense.I think Spurriers system no matter what type of personel you brought in with him wouldnt of worked. Unless he made some serious adjustments to his scheme he would of FAILED either way. Spurrier's entire offensive system is built on the QB audibling to the correct play. It's an audible-based system. DCs and defenses are a lot more sophisticated in the NFL, so players need to adjust on-the-fly. It takes a helluva QB to execute it at the pro level, and doesn't provide much for max protect, so any screw-up by the OL is going to be magnified.
