Horacio Favela defeated Maria Laura Estrada by 180 votes, according to figures provided this morning by the Sunland Park city clerk's office. The vote has yet to be certified. Favela, 48, was charged Friday with one count of false voting, a fourth-degree felony. County officials opened an investigation when they received information that Favela may not live in Sunland Park.
