Uniting in Mourning

Although I will likely be banned for posting here, I just want you all to know that we at hailRedskins.com, we stand beside, shoulder to shoulder with you all, our Redskins bretheren in this trying moment of grief and despair.

What a senseless, horrific tragedy. We all mourn Sean Taylor as a football player because we are football fans of this great franchise. Sean Taylor was becoming the new Mr. Redskin. Sean Taylor was the face of the defense, if not the team.

BUT, that is all put aside forever. Today, we mourn and grieve Sean Taylor the person. Sean Taylor was a friend to many, a son to a loving Mother and Father, a teammate to over 60 players, a star player, a favorite among fans, to hundreds of thousandsof fans, but most of all, above and beyond all of that, Sean Taylor was a Daddy to an 18 month old little girl.

It is a senseless act that many of us struggle with any time we face the death of a young person ....the struggle of why. Taylor has seemingly just began to turn his life around, thanks to that precious daughter of his. He managed finally to shake the past of the neighborhood, and enter the realm of superstar and super-Dad.

But, tragically that was all cut short, and we here in Redskins nation, whether it is ES, hailRedskins.com, CPND, or anywhere else, we all mourn the same thing, the same person for the same reasons. We love this team and Sean Taylor was becoming the face of this franchise. A budding life full of hope and stardom cut short by a senseless tragedy.

hailRedskins.com and Extremeskins have had words in the past, although the past is pretty distant. On a day like this, with the grief we all feel, we can all realize how stupid and non-consequential that all really is. We are all mourning together, one Redskins family, for a lost loved one!

We stand side by side with you and mourn the loss of Sean Taylor, a true and great Washington Redskin!
