OrangeSkin
I readily admit I'm not an NBA fan and I never watch games. I happen to have the first game of the Finals on now and while I can't compare tonight's commentators to other networks, I will say I don't think the music that is constantly played in the arena helps. Now, I realize this happens ever game and is normal to regular NBA fans. But to me it distracts from the game with music changing at every possession. Makes it seem more like a party than gladiators on the court. Takes away from the suspense, etc. Of course, maybe my mini-rant is more about today's NBA game, but I sure find it hard to get interested in the Finals because of it. Agreed, that's one of the main reason I prefer college hoops. The music in NBA arenas makes the games sound like a carnival. You don't see that in any other sport. I don't get it. Why play dumb music like that when the action is underway?
frommd
Bad news. It looks like the NBA has extended the television contracts with ABC/ESPN. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2918089
