Chrisbob74
Ideally, I'd like to see the Redskins trade out of the #6 and move down. The Lance Briggs trade could yet still happen despite the Redskins saying it's dead from their end but for now, I'll assume the Skins have to stand pat as it's impossible to predict so many possible trades and the prices. Given that, if they stay at #6, I'd like to see the Skins draft Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville. Young, lots of potential, hard working, speed inside would improve the pass rush and the players around him would benefit. My alternative would be Adam Carriker who I think will be a sound, if not quite as spectacular, player. Also, if the Landry talk is true and the Falcons do bite, I think Okoye would almost certainly still be there at #8, maybe even as far down as #12 if the Bills were to jump up for Peterson. If the Skins could get a 2nd round pick in a trade off someone , I'd love to see another Auburn addition in (assuming he was there to be taken) Ben Grubbs, OG, Auburn. If that happened, I'd be over the moon. Seeing as they have no pick again until round 5 and my knowledge of the prospects outside the first few rounds is limited, I'd like some sort of DE who could be developed and be used strictly as a pass rushing specialist early in his career so someone like Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan if he slips to the top of the 5th round would be ideal. I like the positives I've read about him and he plays non-stop as well as having a knack for forcing fumbles. Some way of getting turnovers is badly needed on the Redskins D. Assuming Bazuin is taken in the 5th, the 'Skins have two 6th rounders (one from the Archuleta trade to the Bears) and the positions they would use them on are not a massive concern. Possibly a young offensive tackle project like Allen Barbre, OT, Missouri Southern from a small school who seems to have good natural tools but could use some solid pro coaching to get him to reach his potential. Joe Gibbs and Bobby Beathard used to nearly always take a low round gamble on a QB. They nearly always liked to have a development QB on the roster regardless of how healthy the starting position looks and given Brunell and Collins are near to retirement if Chris Leak, QB, Florida slipped to the 6th round, I'd take a punt on him. He lacks ideal size and physical skills but i think he's a gamer who'll work his butt off to make himself better and could be a possible for NFLE 2008 and a long term development project. With the 7th round and final selection, I'd like to see a reserve TE/H-Back type picked as the Skins only have veteran Todd Yoder behind Chris Cooley so someone like Jonny Harline, TE, BYU would be nice. Not really great at anything but a guy who is a useful underneath target and a willing blocker. Could be a nice development pick.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
i really like all of your picks, except for chris leak. we dont need another quarterback, theyre already letting this bramlet kid play in europe to see what hes made of, leak never looked very good. waste of pick. Chrisbob74
I just think that with Brunell and Collins age it can't hurt to take another shot at a QB prospect. Leak is undersized but he's a hard worker and a gamer, a guy who leads by example. I think he can defy the size doubts, just like Doug Flutie! Gregpeck99
Not bad ChrisBob ... Skins can do a lot worse than your plan.
chronicdesi
Only thing I think we should do different is try and get another D-linemen in this draft. I think we can use next year's second or third to get a guard. But, other than that I agree with your picks. We have Wade, so I think we should see how that pans out. Chrisbob74
One thing should have put in my scenario - ON NO ACCOUNT TRADE ANY 2008 PICKS! It would be nice to go into 2008 with a full deck of cards.

Chrisbob74
Leak is a guy people will either love or hate but I think he'll make it in the NFL. Maybe not a long term starter but one of those guys who hangs around and is a good back-up.
Bigredskin77
Landry with the first pick is all we need to know. Leak if he is around in round 6. Baraka Atkins in the 5th round. Some o-line depth in the 7th would be good for us. Landry will make this defense a punishing one. Pass rush is not the problem becuase if you look at most games last year the quarterback would throw the ball in about 2 seconds. No pass rush can get to the quarterback that fast.
