kelly
March 1, 2007 Home > Features > They Said It By Paul Tenorio and Arthur Arkush Random quotes from around the league Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs, quoted on Washingtonpost.com on his willingness to change the team’s offseason workout regimen after several of the team’s leaders expressed displeasure with it last season: “I'm willing to change everything this year, and that's going to be part of the change. I think the first year, you look at it and you say, 'This makes sense.' Start early, get everyone together, which is what we did. The second year carries over and into the third year, but after that they didn't think it was necessary. And I can see that.” > http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/Features/They+Said+It/2007/said+022807.htm
LiveStrongSkins
After this the players wont have any excuse. They complained about the offseason workouts now they have what they want. It's all on them now. It will make me sick however to see anyone complain about a tougher camp. You cant have the softer offseason and a powder puff camp as well. stevenaa
Part of being an effective leader is letting you're people manage themselves to a certain degree. I don't have a big opinion on whether the offseason program was really the issue, but if the playes feel that way, and you can achieve the results you want through other means, then the change should be a good thing.
