pjfootballer
But you have to be careful not to get a defensive holding penalty for taking out a player to aid your teamate. Saw it called in another game this past weekend.
TriangleSkinsFan
cutting the OLine drops them fast, then there is 2 bodies on the ground where the RB needs to go which seems to stuff the play. Also the 2 guys on the ground usually interfere with other blocks and more guys end up on the ground. This big pile of bodies makes it very hard to gain yards. This is particularly effective on short yardage or goal line stands when you baasically know the ball is coming right up the gut. This is not so effective on stretch plays aand such and as pointed out already not effective at all on passing plays. If you still have the ability to go back and watch the 2nd game when the Skins played Dallas this year then go back and watch that first drive. The Cowboys pulled this off for almost 8 straight plays inside the 5 and the Skins came away with a FG. There are some places that you can download the games in full on the internet. Laxpunk2006
i wonder how olineman feel about being cut. The same way the d-lineman feel when the offense does it. They hate it. It's also a situation where you have to focus on protecting your legs (and your career) rather than blocking.
stp240
usually when the D lineman are double teamed, they are taught to drop to the ground:2cents:
